I actually have the Leffot MIller already and contemplating if I need one more shog[1].gif The Benson looks pretty cool as well but I'm more of a boot person

Definitely!!! As long as you rock some nice dark raw denim that are slim and the rest of the outfit is of a similar aesthetic, you would be good to go. Straight stylin!

Update - Order count so far for the AS Miller boot is 4 and AS Benson is 2

Would be great to put the order for both into Alfred Sargent at the end of next week if possible to get them into production.

Here is a great picture of the AS Ramsey in Whiskey Cordovan mto - this shows the first few pairs are ready to be lasted by hand

I would definitely jump on it but I am playing around with the last sizing. I have the 99 in calf and it is slightly on the snug size so I went .5 up on the Ramsey (hoping for a better fit and since it is shell). Prefer to see if the .5 up works better or if I should stick with my regular size.

With all these recent shell purchases, I think I will go from 0% of my shoes being made from shell in 2011 to 33% this year.

^For sizing, I'd recommend going down a full size, particularly in shell. Shell can't be pulled as tight to the last as calf can, so the shoe ends up being a bit loose.

I am not sure I agree that you should go down a full size on the 99 last; I think they would be too short then. I am pretty TTS 10.5D and I have the Ramsey in navy crust in 10F that is a bit wide for me. In this Benson version I went down a width to 10E and I think that will be spot on. I have tried a shell Ramsey in 9.5F and that was much too tight. For refernece, I wear a 10D in Barrie and 10.5D in Leydon, Plaza, Hampton, etc.

I will have to respectfully disagree that the balmoral boot is better; very different aesthetic, but balmoral boots can be found elsewhere. I haven't seen anything half as nice as the style and sleekness of the Benson in a single monkstrap from any of the elite makers. At least for me.

Best case scenario would be to have both. Hahaha.
