i feared that. i tried them on and really liked how they looked on me. when i looked them up online, i find they are officially a ladies model.

went back to the store, of course the SA says its non gender specific, but now im hesitant.

I love them. Just because feminine tastes are favouring more masculine glasses, doesnt mean its now feminine. Those are perfectly suitable for a lad.

Having said that, I'd like to see them on a face to see the sizing. It's hard to tell from a lone pic.

perhaps the strong color contrasts in the tortoise shell will be a bit distracting. only way to know for sure is to try 'em on though.

glasses are TRICKY to judge without putting them on the 'ol face.

thanks guys, you have renewed my hope. but my face is too ugly to post. even with cool glasses

gdot - i really like the strong yellow in the tort, but i think they got mass effect for their web pic, irl its more subdued.

If you think they look good and your wife thinks they look good (important as she's the one that will likely see you the most while wearing them), then you should get them.

You could always do a picture survey on that other site that some people can see.

ooooh, good idea. might do that.

i think they good good, the wife isnt a fran. she likes a smaller more rectangular look, but i dont love that look on my face, i need a rounder frame i think.

Also important to consider how well they suit the position of your eyes and brows. You might find they are the right shape for your face overall, but make your eyes look closer together or farther apart.

The first pair is too delicate for a man; they are definitely women's frames.

The larger Persol frames are nice, although I prefer glasses that don't have any visible branding.

Real answer: I don't think they look feminine, but I don't really like them. Too much contrast for non-real tortoise. As for the shape, no point in answering without seeing them on you, but they are fine in the abstract.
