ORDERS FOR THIS EXCLUSIVE CLOSE ON SUNDAY - ORDER NOW!

Hey guys,
There have been countless pages in the Oak Street Bootmakers affiliate thread discussion a StyleForum exclusive. It's been a fun journey - below is an outline of what we've come up with for the exlusive

Leather
In selecting something special, I headed to Horween a couple of weeks ago. To my surprise, on the Oak Street racks, I found a bundle of hides wrapped in kraft paper - marked 'Oak St Cavalier Cherry'

This was a leather that I developed in conjunction with Horween about 2 years ago. It took us 6 months to get the blend right - the result was a beautiful Oxblood Cherry Cavalier Chromexcel (known for its intense sheen that is incredibly similar to Cordovan). Here is a photo of a shoe that we made using this leather:

Soles
For the sole, there was a lot of discussion of a goodyear sole that has been popping up on Aldens..

In researching this sole, I was talking with Vibram, who told me that the goodyear is a copy of a sole that they've been making in the USA for years! The Vibram 2060 - needless to say, we've elected to use this beautiful sole:

Eyelets
Antique Brass. These are the same eyelets that we use on many of our shoes - simple and beautiful:

Welt
Full leather stitched welt

Insoles
It's been requested so we're listening. This will be our first run of shoes using FULL length insoles - made of bark tanned Horse Leather

Laces:
Rawhide laces - same as we use on almost all of our shoes

Options / Price

Vibram Trail Oxford - all above specs: $296

Vibram Camp Boot - all above specs: $341

Trail Oxford - standard camp sole (specs as above, minus vibram 2060 and welt): $278

Camp Boot - standard camp sole (specs as above, minus vibram 2060 and welt): $327

If you'd like a pair - 'sign up' below and details to make the purchase will be forthcoming!

Regarding insole, can you clarify: do you mean a soft insole or a stiffer leather one that should mold to one's foot?

This shoe will make use of the exact same form fitting foam pad that is in all of our insoles. However, rather than overlay the pad with a 3/4 length piece of chromexcel, on this shoe we will overlay the pad with a full length piece of bark tanned leather. It's a HUGE upgrade that will slowly makes its way into all of our shoes

Is it gonna be lined? Or is it an option?

I wasn't planning on it being an option - as you can tell from my line, I much prefer unlined - prolongs the life of the shoe and lets your feet breath

That's a great question! A friend of ours in Japan posted this photo, and in it (especially in the shoe closest to us) you can see the stitched welt. You may want to click on the photo to enlarge it.

Directly below the leather upper, you can see the piece of leather that is between the upper and soles. This is the welt - and you can see it is stitched. The stitching connects the welt to the midsole (the midsole is directly below the welt and is an incredibly thin black piece (we now use a tone on tone rather than black midsoles) and then connected to the midsole is the sole. I hope that makes sense, and that you can visually see what a stitched welt is

Don`t remember if this has been talked about in the other thread but are custom widths also going to be offered?

Cool! I'd like to go for the 10.5D trail oxford with the 2060 sole. Any idea on a rough timetable for these so I can set aside some stacks?
