Suit Suggestions for $500? - Page 2

Another vote for the Benjamin here. Far and away my nicest suit, the quality seems as good as if not better than my two Golden Fleeces. Fit-wise it was spot on with minimal tailoring.

Suits for that amount are usually on sale - but I'm favoring BB thistime.

Subscribing...thinking about picking up something summery in this price range.

Have been told to take a look at Club Monaco's offerings which have apparently improved a lot in recent times. Gotta deal with my square shoulders and barrel chest which often makes stuff take a ton of work to get right--and I'd rather not have to do major surgery on a $500 suit.

Most Club Monaco clothes are very slim fitting... doesn't sound like the right match for you.

If you really want "summery" then what about this:

suitsupply x10000

Suitsupply is looking pretty damn good.  However they don't have enough photos of the actual suits.  And I'm always afraid to order something online without trying on first.  But I'm tempted!!

Anyone know if Suitsupply has a FULL Canvas?

I got the Napoli in Navy and am very impressed with it. Great fabric and good fit. FYI - they run a hair large, at least in the napoli cut.

obviously what fits some will not fit others

there is a suitsupply thread here with some "RL" photos

i, for one, like the Italia very much. and it is oversized (i.e. size down)

I was checking that out last night.  It looks very nice.  Do you know if it's a full canvas?

So you had it altered I take it and after that... how's the fit???

Suit supply is half canvassed. Exception is the jorst model, which is quite pricey....

It's definitely half canvassed. You're not going to find full canvass for this price range unless you go Benjamin from ehaberdasher and they didn't have my size. I'm pretty short with average/athletic build, 5'7''. I had the jacket shortened along with usual sleeves and pants hemmed. I needed a conservative suit for interviews without being a shapeless blob for around $500 and it fits the bill very well.
