Pretty sure there isn't a consolidated thread with info for stuff like tailors, cobblers, stocklists of random harder to find items, etc. and it would be helpful to get a consolidated list in place. I'll update this first post regularly as people post. Can also post PSAs or places to avoid.

Tailors:

Bob Stankovic: http://www.yelp.com/biz/stankovic-bob-menlo-park

Cobblers / Shoe-Care suppliers:

This is actually a great idea - I'll see if I can put together a few things to contribute.

Anthony's Shoe Service: http://www.yelp.com/biz/anthonys-shoe-service-san-francisco

Honestly, I don't have much to compare it to since it was my one and only time going to a cobbler, but Anthony was super helpful. I bought a pair of shoes on ebay and some fool had painted the sides of the soles black. I was expecting to have to totally replace the sole which he quoted me as $120 or something, but he offered to try sanding off the paint first and going over it with some laquer, which would run $30. I wasn't sure if it'd work, so he said he'd put the $30 towards the $120 if I didn't like it and wanted to totally replace the sole. Saved me almost a $100 and the shoes look great.

Sweet - I wanted to get a Vibram rubber topsole on some new shortwings I picked up...but European Cobblery is trying to charge me nearly $60. I don't remember ever paying that much outside of the Bay Area - anyone have a place they'd recommend for getting a topy?

I use Oxford Tailor. Same building as Franz. I think they're actually brothers.

Any other cobbler recommendations in San Francisco or the East Bay beyond Anthony's?
