May i suggest a basic class in PhotoShop? You'll be surprised what you can do with mediocre pics in PS. Combine that with a decent DSLR, and your pics should be Spoorific in no time... icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I have to respectfully disagree. Post processing should be one of the last things one learns about photography. Lightning and composition trump PS most of the time.

Fair enough, but i don't think Spoo's composition or lighting is particularly flawed. The only difference i can see to MOL's pics is a bit of drama. Maybe MOL recreates everything in 3D MAX or MAYA to control the staging perfectly? smile.gif

Ha, lighting takes a lot to master though :) so there's a difference between an well-lit subject and correctly lit subject in terms of photographic lighting. If you look at MoL's pics, the "dramatic" effect is created by the shadows, not necessarily by the areas that are lit well. It's not that complicated though, if you have good light to work with. In the above pics, I guess all of MoL's subjects are laid on a flat table next to a windows. Windows light is considered extremely good for photography.

Indeed, natural sunlight is the best.

I can't help but notice this slight outer circular burn on MOL's pics. I am not sure if that is something a lens can create, but i would guess there is some post production tidbits in play. I am a graphics nerd, so every time i see something i think to myself, " how would i recreate that?"...

Those Boss glasses are nice; at what point did HB start cutting corners on quality?
