Keep in mind that cult followed shows like Firefly and Freaks & Geeks are in a whole different class then something like Arrested Development or Community getting canceled here. They didn't even last a season, but are still loved by fans years later. At least with the other shows you got a year or more out of them.

Best TV show that never got a fair chance was Profit, which lasted all of five episodes in 1996, but influenced countless subsequent TV series with its portrayal of an amoral anti-hero.
