i would build my own rig if it functioned with OEM reliability...
sometimes the motherboard didnt really like another component, such as gfx card or whatever... then i gotta return or exchange whatever...
its like all time consuming to research, pick out the best shit, then test it to see if it fits...
then you gotta get all your own firmware and all the little shit...
then look at alienware's watercooling system... its legit as hell... i def would not want to fuck with live coolants in a computer i built... shit probably leak and destroy the entire rig facepalm.gif
i, being a lazy mother fucker with this kind of crap, wasnt ever to get it running as straight as a dell...

then another thing is aesthetics..
show me a case for a desktop or laptop that lights up and looked all cool?
they sell some taiwanese made ones that lights up on newegg, but none with the quality and coolness of alienware...

That's just down to personal opinion isn't it?
Alienware, like Marmite: Love it or hate it? The latter for me I think.

TBH I rather detest PCs and other tech products that are filled with blue lights. Wouldn't give them the house room. Certainly wouldn't want a laptop that illuminates like a Las Vegas casino. What's the battery life like, 30 minutes?

Thing is though, there's many quality PCs, including high performance gaming rigs from many OEM manufacturers. Think with Alienware one really paying for the fancy housings and lighting, as well as the name and perceived cachet. It's very much same Chinese manufactured mainboards, RAM, CPUs, HDDs, in these things. Apple computers I think are overpriced as well, as is Sony Vaio.

You do know that your Alienware PCs where made here in the People's Republic of China? "coolness" again is a matter of opinion.
