Leather Arts & Crafts MOTO (Aoyama--Tokyo, Japan) Appreciation Thread - Page 18

This is a photo I took today after a days walking around in the afternoon. I am wearing Leather & Silver MOTO Sidegoa Boots Brown Size 3. They fit similiar to a size US 11.

Thanks for sharing and for bumping the thread! Moto continues to be my most footwear brand for their beautiful leathers and excellent craftsmanship. Does anyone happen to have a list of online stockists? There are a couple of models that I'm looking for but are sold out in my size at the few sources I know of.

Just got these the other day. Size 2 similar to 9.5.

^9.5 in what? Hopefully, that's what you wear in Alden Barrie. If not, I just might be in between sizes :\

9.5 on Brannock. Don't have a pair of Barrie, but my TruBalance size is 9

Hi guys,

I'm trying to decide on a pair of Moto Chukkas.

With wide 9.5 feet would I be wise to go with a 3 and wear an insole if needed rather than a 2?

Also, from your experience which are more versatile: the brown or black?

Just got turned onto them from poking around Silver and Gold.

The (edit) desert boots are awful nice, too. So hard to choose.

Thanks.

I'd recommend a size 3. I wear a US 10, and the 3 fits spot on for me in the cordovan plain toe oxford.

For PTB, brown is probably more versatile (and the color depth is insane). Although black is equally beautiful... You really can't go wrong with either

Got my brown MOTOs today, direct from MOTO.

They told me, based on my foot length (27.5 cm) that a size 3 is what I needed.

Well, they're awfully big on me. I put in a Superfeet insole and tied the laces tight and I can make it work. But man, do I wish I had gotten a 2.

I measured them and they're 32 cm long on the outsole. Only other pair of shoes that comes close to that length of mine is my CCP derbies.

So, are these just supposed to be a long shoe?

They fit fine width-wise.

As I had them Vibram them at the workshop I'm doubtful I could return them. Just figured I'd ask/commiserate with you guys.

Thanks.

They don't look overly long from the outside - obviously it's how they feel to you.

What sizes are you usually? I'm generally a UK8 and I think I figured that out to be a 2 in Moto, although I don't own any as yet.

Yeah, they look okay in the pics, I guess. But I didn't really want to have to use an insole. My foot definitely is a little loose and I can see with wear that it would probably just get worse. Edit: I'm a size US 9.5 so the 2 should be perfect. I guess I don't own too many pairs of dress shoes but 6.5 cm extra from toe to tip is probably not preferred.

But the good news is that they're going to exchange them for me! I just have to pay shipping.

So, in a few weeks I'll be (hopefully) much happier with my MOTOs.

That is good news. Are you in Japan? I heard they don't tend to ship outside the country and much prefer you to buy instore.
Nope. I'm in the U.S.

I wrote them through their contact page on their website and they've been more than helpful.

I'm just hoping the width doesn't change drastically from a 3 to a 2. But I'm sure they'll stretch. Id rather snug than loose.

Just kind of feels like a kid putting on his dad's shoes with a 3. wink.gif

What did you pay for them, Alexander? I might be interested, which would save you from paying shipping to JP.

Just PM'd you. An hour too late. Sorry.

To answer your question, though, they were $650 plus an extra $28 to Vibram them.
