Can anyone suggest places to shop for shoes in San Diego

Thread Starter
I have a business trip to San Diego planned next week and was wondering if there are any stores in particular that have a good selection of luxury brand shoes.

In addition, I am looking for some cool ankle boots that I can wear with a suit.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Might want to try Carlsbad outlets if looking for some Ferragamo's ///http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/store_listing.asp?id=66

If not Fashion Valley Mall has a huge selection of designers from LV, Gucci, Hermes, Neiman Marcus and so on....http://www.simon.com/mall/malldirectory.aspx?id=765

I would think La Jolla would have some good shops too, but I am not sure.

Ferragamo also has a store at fashion valley (non outlet)

San Diego es no bueno for shoes. Better off heading up to orange county to South Coast or Fashion Island. Neiman's and Ferragamo outlet is as good as it gets.

Hello, I live in the OC as well. Can you tell me where the Ferragmo outlet is located? I would love to drop by. Thanks

I spent a year in San Diego in 2006 and concur about the fairly poor shoe shopping. There is a Ralph Lauren store in La Jolla, but they specialize in "resort casual", i.e. no Purple Label merchandise and not a good shoe selection. If you are going to OC, check South Coast Plaza and The Block at Orange (outlet stores), but if you are traveling that far, I would suggest the Cabazon outlet mall. I've had excellent success finding Ferragamo Tramezza shoes at the Ferragamo store. I've bought 3-4 pairs at various times and they are some of my favorite shoes.

Sorry, should have clarified. The Ferragamo outlet I was referring to is in north SD in Carlsbad. Was saying that all you got here in SD is NM and Ferragamo outlet (which does carry Tramezza). There is an Off Fifth and Nordstrom Rack that don't get great footwear. Sadly, the NM Last Call shut down a couple of weeks ago that used to have high end shoes once in a while.

The RL boutique has started to carry PL tailored clothing from time to time. Shoes are not great. Italian made is as good as they carry.

I'm glad to hear that the La Jolla RL store has stepped up their game. I was just in San Diego for a week in late March, went to the NMLC store and was sad to learn that it was scheduled to close 2 weeks later. In 2006, it was the only NMLC in California, so I scored some sweet deals. Now there are apparently 3 other NMLCs in California frown.gif.

I always had much better success finding Tramezza shoes at the Cabazon Ferragamo store than the one in Carlsbad.
