No, there is something to it, which explains 1) the reason lots of the beautiful Chinese starlets now being imported to the States, Zhang Zhizhi being the most prominent, have those facial features (larger, rounder eyes and smaller lips/mouths, combined with a fine facial structure, and 2) the (partial) reason you see very few Asian guys with black women, and a significantly higher number of (east) Asian guys with white women. I would say that for guys that are brought up in Asia, being attracted to black women is sort of the equivalent of chubby chasing in the States or Europe. In other words, these guys are definitely being attracted to qualities that deviate from the accepted norm of beauty. The same goes with Asian women and black guys in particular, although, just like in the US, there is a lot more latitude in what constitutes an attractive male as opposed to an attractive female.

As for non-Asians not really being about to distinguish the really beautiful Asian girls from the so-so down to the outright homely, imhe, I've seen a disproportionate fraction of rather unattractive Asian girls with white, latino, and black dudes.

Never knew that happened in Japan. Who are these Black men , soldiers? Over here there are a lot of Asian women who only date Black men ,it seems non-black women who date Black men always do so exclusively. I've always wondered why.

Yes, the vast majority are in the US Military...
Not sure why the non-Black women who date Black men do so exclusively - perhaps there's a modicum of truth to the old addage, "Once you go Black, you never go back." Most likely they just prefer Black men... and Black music and so forth.
This all reminds me of a book I read about the Vietnam war -- evidently, there were two types of Vietnamese hookers - those who would service Black men, and those who would service White men. I think there could be some racism involved here, unfortunately -- i.e., the White men didn't want to be with hookers who had serviced Black men.
So it's best not to think about it too much...

Just because a white guy is dating an unattractive Asian girl doesn't mean that he has a fetish, or can't tell an unattractive Asian girl from an attractive Asian girl. It might even be possible that he's dating her for a reason other than her race, or beauty (or lack of) or the fact that she can love him long time. Hmmm? FACT: People of any race date ugly people from not only their own race, but from other races. Oh, and just to add some more fuel to the fire... what really matters in an Asian girl is if she's fob. That's like -1 million points right there. I've met some nice fobs, and I got nothing against immigration, but 99.9% of them I would consider undatable. Think about it, do you really want her to display peace signs in every photo you take with her, or decorate your apartment with Hello Kitty stuff? Yeah, I thought so. There is a scale though... if she immigrated when she was very young, the magnitude of fobbiness can be limited to the point where she can be considered non-fob (though some non-fobs might take issue with this).

Japanese accents can be very cute. I'm not so big on the Korean or Chinese accents myself. Vietnamese accents drive my crazy. I can barely even understand anything my girlfriend's mom says to me.

Lucy Liu is pretty. She's not a knockout or anything but I would never kick her out of bed.

I think she (Liu) looks better than the two women jinda posted as being "Pretty", not that they aren't, but you know. Yeah I give you Margaret Cho. She looks like the Asian Rosie O'Donnel to me.
