Last I heard, August was the projected release, but of course it is subject to change. If all goes well, we hope to send people off to school with a new pair to show off, hopefully.

Right now the jeans are supposed to leave Japan mid July..takes about 10 days to get here and then off to the stores. However sometiimes there are delays. Thanks to whoever said we may need to reduce the back pocket good call. Seriously thanks for everyone's input...LA Guy and Mauro. It is really great for me personally to do this and I will absoultely send pics from the fitting. You all are now " made men " and now part of the Denimafia.

I guess I can own up to that one! That was the only other thing about the 5EPs I had a problem with (besides the rise). Now the jeans should be perfect except for two questions...

1) I have the LDB Rigid in a 30". I have a 30" waist but these were huge on me. Even after a hot washed & dryer (Please don't kill me), they were still loose in the waist. Will the SF version fit more true to size?

2) I'm 5'3" and will definitely need to hem them. Will that alter the look of the jeans? I imagine not since it's a straight leg & I've altered both my LDBs & Straight resins.

This is very exciting. Thanks!

1) The LDB rigid was sized up to allow for shrinkage - sized up a little too generously for me too. These new jeans will not be sized up for shrinkage, and are meant to fit slimmer throughout. Given the initial specs, I would say that you should go for the size 30. 2) Hemming will not change the look of the jeans. At 5'3", you are an outlier, and the knee will be a little low on you (since the jeans are cut with the knee 14"down on the inseam, and your knees may be a little higher), but below the knee, they are straight down. If the LDB and SD both worked for you lengthwise after hemming, so should these.

Okay here is a pic of the first proto of the new Low Down Slim for StyleForum. Thats Hitman wearing size 32x34. We need to make a few " tweaks ' but overall we are pleased with the fit. Will send new pics in a few weeks of the final proto.

Thanks for all the emails, phone calls, and posts about 5EP jeans. It is very flattering to me personally and makes all the hard work worthwhile. It has been an eye opener for me since joining SF and reading all the posts. I also apprecaite the constructive comments ( both good and bad ) and I have learned a lot. Thanks again to Fok, Mauro, and all the Made Men from SF.

PS - We do have a Denimafia handshake. Two hands clasped ( hook your fingers ) like a felled seam..okay not cool..but funny.

Sure -

I have an ample seat (aka le fat ass). I have your LDBs in a 36x34 and they fit me fine though I couldn't handle slimmer than those. Perhaps 15 pounds from now.
