Hi, I'm a frequent reader but first time poster.
I did some search on StyleForum before posting my inquiry but I could not find a comprehensive, recent thread on slim-fit dress pants.
I recently bought a pair of Theory Marlo pants in charcoal (first pair of pants for my first job so I have had much experience dealing with work cloth over a long period of time). I really liked the fit given that I have soccer-size legs but still wanted a slim fitting pants with flat rise and small leg opening. However, my only concern is that Theory does not seem to have good quality (buttons coming off and loose strings here and there) for the price it begs.
Does anyone know any good quality in the $125 ~ $225 range? The closest I found to Theory, through what many might consider a half-assed effort, is the Ludlow slim pants by JCrew. On a further but general note, how important is fabric over time? Does the fabric become stretched as a natural process thus making them look less slim; does the look of the material deteriorate over time? These are some of the thoughts that go into my mind when I think about buying dress pants. Thanks in advance if any expert can shed their knowledge and help out a fashion amateur!
