I think that they've made a wonderfully designed boot, but I think everyone here is also aware that we're all early adopters of this boot. If anyone wants a completely smooth ride, I'd go with something more established. But if you want the brand-new sexy boot, well, there are going to be some hiccups along the way. It's warm out, I don't need boots this week.
I have to step in here to say that while everyone may be considered 'early' on these, purchasers should ONLY expect a smooth ride. These were LONG tested before release. In fact, many of you may remember seeing photos in December 2011, and asking 'when will these be released?!'. The answer was, that we wanted wear testers to put these through rough wear for the a year before release!
Hundreds of pairs have been out on people's feet since December, with hardly any issues aside from a broken shoe lace here and there =) For those that keep up with the Wolverine thread - you know about quality control issues - something that we have not experienced. For every part of our boot, including the welting, we are using the same suppliers as Alden and purchase equal to or exceeding quality materials (leather soles, welting, etc etc etc). Further, our small batch production is why so many reviewers have said that our quality exceeds that of Alden, Trickers and the like. We are making these in much smaller numbers which means our craftsmen do not have to rush to the next pair - each pair is in their hands for a much longer time, examining, and taking their time working.
The quality of these boots is truly second to none - and the reviews thus far do the talking
