LP'd them today, and they look great. Always a good choice to LP cxl in my opinion, if you want them to last forever.
Going to put a thin topy on them tomorrow, I think. I was planning on leaving them as leather, but I'm really not liking the way the sole or the heel is wearing in. Anyone else noticing them wearing in weirdly? I can see that it's the way that patrick_b's are wearing in on the edges too. Not at all like AE soles, which get compressed and hard, and then just slowly round off at the edges. This sole is sort of compressing and... not exactly flaking off at the edges, but coming off in little strands of leather that are slowly rubbing off. Same with the heel, it's not just rubbing off, it's sort of sloughing off in strands. It just looks wrong to me so I'll put on the half-sole and render the whole question moot. The heel doesn't matter quite so much, since I know that'll just have to be replaced eventually anyway. For now, I'm assuming that this is just a way some leather soles break in, and that I've just never noticed it before.
Edited that as I noticed the wear pattern on other peoples. Like I say, it doesn't quite look right to me, and since no one has had these boots for *too* long, I'll be curious to see if it works itself out.
