Got my trench boots on Friday evening.  When I was putting them on Saturday morning, one of the laces just snapped.  Not sure I want to keep leather laces on these, although they do lend a certain character to the look of the boots.

Hey all, so I just got my Navy Camp Boot and was wondering about what people would recommend protection wise before I take them out on the street.  I have some Saphir pommadier and renovateur,  would people say that this is all that's needed to protect?  I'm a bit of a newbie to leather boots and to the forum, so please be gentle!

Great boot! I am wearing mine today in fact. i put absolutely nothing on mine. I brush after every wear and have applier renovator two or three times in the 15+ months I have had them.

I'm slowly falling in love with them after wearing them in my flat all day!  So nothing at all?  How has the leather coped without any protection?  Can't wait to take them out tomorrow, I have a feeling I'm going to become a bit of a boot freak!

I don't suppose you have a photo of them now do you?  Just so I can get an idea of how they look after 15 months wear!

Sure, here you go...Keep in mind I have a decent amount of shoes so these have been worn less than 50 times. I can take a better shot later

nope, they are quite strong. I have some creasing along one of them but that is just normal leather wear to me. I would recommend getting a get horsehair brush and brushing them regular (if not after every wear). This really helps to bring out the natural oils in the leather and keep them from drying out. Then every few months use a bit of renovateur and you should be good to go.

Here is the creasing

Contacted Tony at OSB about the broken lace and he's already shipped out a replacement pair to me.  Excellent customer service!  But for some reason, with my little bit of dealing with them and hearing George on this thread and on the interview that he gave, I kind of expected that they would be the kind of company with excellent service.  Kudos to them.

They wanted me to pay for replacements, but this was after a couple months of wear. Ended up buying some waxed laces instead.
But yes, their customer service is top notch.

Any love for the captoes? Bought these during the first preorder, and I've been wearing these in rainy Vancouver weather a couple days a week. First treatment with Venetian shoe cream today. Loving the Natural CXL!
