^I'll keep you posted jimney - if we can't make enough to have stock at both places, then we'll only have them online for the first run
We're anticipating a quick sell out because of GQs post, and the positive feedback we've received from people who have seen them, and our group of wear testers - because of that, we're trying to craft enough, and make sure that we have plenty in progress so that we don't sell out too quickly!

So George, does that mean no vibram version for now? Those posted on GQ with the vibram sole were what got a lot of people excited.

Are you guys offering these new boots in a size 6? Or is this something I'll have to ask for on a custom order when the boot officially comes out?

You got it, 6 is a custom order
If you'd like to pre-order it, please email Tony (info@oakstreetbootmakers.com) so that we can start crafting it for you shortly!

Vibram is on hold - literally every person who has seen the leather sole and vibram sole in person has immediately moved toward the leather - it's really really strong

For casual use and errands however I would suggest the vibram trail oxfords which will hold out longer and are better in wet conditions. All of our shoes can be re-soled countless times giving you a shoe that will last for years to come. Our refurb program really bring them back to life as well.
For sizing, go down half from barrie last, and in vibram trail oxfords go with your barrie size. If they do not fit you, you of course can return or exchange - just make sure they are in new condition. We cover the shipping on the exchange pair that we send out AND we cover the intial pair shipping for StyleForum members.
No philly store. As for the wait compared to Alden, our shoes are made in a much slower, more hand made process than Alden - and it does take us about 6 weeks to handcraft each pair. With that said, we usually have pairs in process so that the wait can be less than 6 weeks, but it is first come first served - meaning, you'll get your shoes much quicker if you pre-order rather than wait for your size to appear on the website.
Let me know if you have any additional questions
Thank you so much!

Thanks for the thorough reply. My hangups about the trail oxford are the look of the white sole, the laces (for around the house I'd like a slip-on), and the laces again (I really don't like those leather lace things since they never stay tied on my feet). And I'm guessing that the crepe is more comfortable. When I say errands, I mean the weekly visit to trader joe's or Costco for groceries, or maybe a pop over to the local happy hour spot. Nothing rough. If loafers aren't made for that, then what're they for? (I'm genuinely slightly befuddled.) If I want to order the loafers, should I just PM you about the shipping? Thanks again for the help.

Would it be possible for me to go in to Independence and get sized for the boot, then preorder it? I have the boat shoes, but I'm not sure they fit how I would want boots to fit.

I'm not really in the market for a leather soled boot at the moment, it was those vibram samples that got me wide-eyed.

Maaan I want those boots and a pair of trail oxfords. Damn my wide feet and their uncertainties.

We don't have any samples to try on at Indy - just TJ's pair of 9.5s. They run VERY true to size

haha - they're certainly more than okay for errands - it's a damn nice shoe for errands =)
You are right, the crepe is by far the most comfortable sole - when I know I will be on my feet I wear one of our crepe shoes. Definitely sounds like the pennys are for you.

After you place the order just email info at oakstreetbootmakers dot com and let Tony know the remove shipping because you're an SF member =)

Hey! I our normal 'moc' like (trail oxfords, penny loafers, etc), all of those shoes can be made in widths (C, D, EE, EEE). But, chromexcel stretches a lot to conform to wide feet. Most customers stick with D and let the leather conform

We'll see, we'll see =)

Last question for you: what is the width of the new boots like? Lets say, compared to a barrie last? Wider, equal or more narrow?

Really stoked for them!

TJ from Independence should be able to snap some more photos (though his are natural chromexcel - we'll be releasing brown chromexcel instead)

Dang. I have a pair of wolverines 1000 miles in brown chromexcel, which is a fine boot, so it'd be hard to justify another pair so similar. I was sold on the natural though. These do look like they'll have a better profile than the 1000 miles however. Would love to see more pics.

If you need new insoles due to slippage email us info at oakstreetbootmakers.com and we'll send ya a UPS label. Turn around is 1 day! We'll replace them and get them back in the mail to you the same day we receive them =)
redrafting does include new insoles, but - no need to pay for the insoles - we got ya covered (see above)

I'm having this same problem (have the natural trails from independence). Should I just shoot you an email?

So apparently OSB doesnt do EE sizing for at least the penny loafer. I wanted an 8EE. Would it be better to go with an 8EEE, 8E, or just go look elsewhere. For reference I tried on an 8.5E and it was still a bit big and I wear an 8EEE AE Park aves.

Hey George,

Do you have any of the womens styles available yet? Which styles? When are they launching on the website?

Thanks
