George & Gents:


Just got my Loden trail mocs from Mr UPS. Man, these are gorgeous! I sized down 1/2 size from my normal shoe size (took my Alden Barrie Size). The shoes have a few tight spots in the right foot...especially the right pinkie toe. The length in general seems fine though.

Would you recommend I size up 1/2 or will these stretch out? I don't wanna keep a pair of these that I wont end up wearing due to some pain spots.

Hey Joe!
Length is what you should mainly pay attention to - width is exactly where they open up. And they open up quite a bit! WIthout seeing you wearing the shoes in person, it sounds like the fit is spot on. The width, where your pinky toe is, is where the shoes will conform

Use a stiff bristle brush - specifically a brass bristle brush. This will open up the nap again, and release collected dust and dirt

George,
I'm about to place an order and just wanted to get confirmation:

I scanned the thread, and the general consensus seems to be to size down 1 whole size for the penny loafers.

I'm a 13D Brannock and 12.5D Barrie. You don't have a 12.5D penny loafer (size suggested for me on the Oak Street site), so I was going to order a 12D in the natural penny loafers. Do you think these will fit? Thanks!

I do - size 12 should be perfect for you!

Please keep in mind - we recommend a super snug/borderline tight fit on our loafers. Specifically, pay attention to the length rather than the width - they will open up substantially to conform to your foot within 2-3 days of wear - so if they're good in length, they will open up in width for a perfect fit!

I wear a 10EE in red wing, also currently have a 10.5W in sperry a/o that are a little too long... would the correct penny loafer size for me be 9.5 or 10?  I can fit my index finger behind my heel in the sperrys, a 10W probably would have been a better choice.

 

I usually have to size up to get the width correct, especially in sneakers and such, but I don't want major heel slippage once these stretch!

Yea, just took advantage of the deal, but was worried about the sizing. The guys at Oakstreet told me to size down one from my US10D(most shoes) and AE 9.5E on the Strand 5 Last. They said it'll be a lil snug in the beginning but will stretch to my foot a few days after that.

Thanks. purchase made not the anxiety of waiting will probably get to me before the shoe is shipped early June. LOL shog[1].gifbiggrin.gif

LE Canvas wasn't supposed to put these up just yet - but those crepe soles look fantanstic =)
Their price and ship date isn't correct, AND Oak Street is excluded from all sales. They already removed the ability to order, but will be available soon when pre-order ship date is solidified, and price is correct nod[1].gif

I would suggest a 9E for you. We can do custom widths, but we can not accept returns/exchanges on custom orders. I would suggest you try a standard 9D in the penny. These very well may work for you! If they don't then you at least know the appropriate length to order for a custom

wow, thats smaller than I would have imagined.  I will try the 9D.  Is there an increase in price for custom widths?

The navy suede oxfords are actual available on our site for immediate ship! We can pack em up and have them out the door in the AM for you! Price is $268, and Lands End will have the same price

Will be calling you shortly on the blue oxfords to pair up with some beefroll loafers.

 

Ordered a pair on landsend yesterday before I saw this thread..  received 2 calls/voicemails from them this morning. you may want to talk with them and have them come up with a better reason for canceling the orders.. using "inferior quality control.. we don't want to send out a product" might not be the best idea for the average buyer on their site who may be looking to try our your shoes. obviously people in this thread now know they weren't supposed to advertise yet.

Maiden voyage for the Loden Trail Oxfords. Supremely comfortable. This shade of Loden looks incredible in the natural light (hard to capture on this rainy day in NYC).
