Not the best pictures, but.....yea. Much darker brown than I was anticipating really. Very pleased, of course, but from everyone saying they were more of a tan/grey/olive-ish thing...you know.

12 D in these...certainly fit essentially the same as a 12 D in Indys. It's funny how much longer the toe seems on my Trail Oxfords compared to these (TOs fit a hair looser, but I didn't think sizing down would have been best with my instep. The laces on these are certainly much "hardier" than the TO's as well. I mean, it makes sense since it's a boot and all, but something about these rawhides feels strange. Probably my imagination. That's enough rambling I think...

(Maybe I'll actually wear them outside tomorrow! *Gasp*)

Edit: typo...

All these pictures look amazing. Makes me want to place my order, but I'm still torn between the trench boot vs chukka. Ahh... decisions, decisions.

So I'm not usually one to quibble about marks on a pair of boots, but one of my trench boots got a rather dark scuff on the toe yesterday- and I can't seem to rub or brush out the mark. Any suggestions?

Edit: the scuff was on concrete, what seems to have happened is that the finish was scraped off the leather, and my attempts at rubbing and brushing the leather have stained it with my hands oils, maybe?

Would saddle soap help?

Obviously I know these are boots, and they are going to get scuffed and patinaed, but this sticks out like a sore thumb and makes them look pretty bad.

Hmm, so I have to size down a half size in Indy's, but these are supposed to be true to size per the website...are most people ordering TTS or going a half size smaller?

FWIW, I wear a 10.5D in Indy's and 11D in AE Daltons.

Really wish they could be done in a Dainite or Commando sole, but was told via email they couldn't do it.

IMO the Trench Boots fit the same as Barrie or Trubalance, or a half size big. I also find em to be pretty wide.
For me trenches fit TTS whereas Barrie/Trubalance fit .5 size large.

Yeah, it could well just be me, or perhaps the ones I had. Regardless, I found em to fit like ass. Who's got some 9.5s to dump? biggrin.gif

Has anyone ever had to size down 1.5 for the penny loafers? I'm going back and forth with Tony and I might have to do that with the pennies. Case in point, the size 7 trail oxfords I posted previously are loose about 0.5 inches (can place two fingers behind my heel) if I move my feet to the front which I'm guessing would make a 6.5 trail oxford perfect. With that the penny loafers supposed to be half size smaller than trail oxford which would be size 6.
