Hey Mossman - we actually stopped putting that piece of leather on the under side of the camp soles for that reason. That piece of leather just can't stay on the underside of the sole for a multitude of reasons - humidity, wet weather, etc. I actually wanted it there purely for aesthetic reason, because when it comes off it doesn't affect the shoe in any way. However, i quickly realized that everyone wanted that piece to stay on! So we did away with it! Now it's much improved, we have a built in 'logo' into the bottom of the sole rather than the strip of leather smile.gif

Alright, if you're gonna twist my arm biggrin.gif
I'm planning on offering them in brown and black - and I'm actually working on developing a new brown leather with Horween. I'm also considering using a heavy oak leather sole - so there would be the option of vibram or leather nod[1].gif

In terms of what you keep in stock via your site, do you plan on offering wider widths regularly in the future?

Cheers, and glad you're an affiliate.

For the foreseeable future narrow and wide widths will be pre-order only (just shoot as an email and we'll craft it for you). In terms of inventory, it gets pretty intense when you keep all of that in stock. Our inventory is pretty wild already - can't imagine having widths in all sizes across the board...not yet at least =)

Thank you for the order - and enjoy the shoes!

Happy to hear you like the natural - it's so awesome =) natural vibram trail oxford is selling like gangbusters at Independence in Chicago. And of course, the beefroll like yours is a staple!

Can anyone provide some sizing insight? I typically wear 7.5Ds in Barrie and 8E on the Leydon last for Alden.

Are you about an 8D on the brannock? I'm an 8D on the brannock and AE Strand/Park Ave, 7.5 in Barrie. My oakstreet loafers are perfect in size 7 with dress socks, and a bit roomy barefoot (they stretched a bit since I got them). I plan on getting the trail oxfords in a 7.5.

I actually sized weird and got away with it.... I am a 11.5d in trubalance and barrie. I got 12d for the oxford trail, and 11.5d for beefroll. I would I could have gotten away with the 11.5d in both. however, you see more of the width of my foot in the 11.5d... I would advise if going with vibram oxford or trail oxford to get either your barrie size or one up simply becuase heel slip should go away once broken in and I like the fact of a more stream line toe area. Meaning the 12d look slimmer them the 11.5d, that could also be because one is a beefroll. smile.gif

George do they stock the smaller sizes at independence? like maybe a 6.5, 7 in case I have to size down for the trail oxford?

Also has anyone actually gotten them in custom widths? I am actually a C width.

I have inquired with Tony but sizing is really the main thing that`s keeping me from getting a pair.

Haha, I'm glad I didn't wait around to order those; apparently I got the last size 10. I'm in Indiana, so they should be here pretty soon smile.gif

Oh - iluvatar - I was in the shop when there was a call for those! Must have been you! The natural vibram trail oxfords moved FAST - we're trying to get them in stock, for sizes that are gone and are pre-saleing when needed. Call if you guys want us to check your size for availability

Independence doesn't stock 6.5. I know that the Oak Street website has some 7s available right now - however, the small sizes always go fast, so pre-ordering if often needed
As for widths - C,E, EE, EEE, etc, we do them every day! Custom widths are a special order - no extra cost, but aren't returnable because they are custom made for you. A lot of people order normal D width to figure out what size has the best legth, then they order the custom width. It's always an option!

Right on George, definitely a better idea.
