Most people are going with their trail oxford size in the shell loafers (or up half from their CXL loafers)

HW Carter & Sons took the Shell Cordovan Loafers off their site because of the mad dash of people trying to pick them up - however, they are BACK on the site - and yes, the price is for real - under $500 for shell cordovan handsewn loafers nod[1].gif

George have you ever seen the stitching on the welt breaking like on mine? Doesn't seem like an issue just wanted to hear your opinion.

Just got the email to say mine have shipped - a glitch with the website meant I've not had to pay for (international) postage either!

Had my trail oxfords on all day (11) and decided to go down to a 10.5 in the boat shoe that I had on order. I ordered a 10.5 in the shell loafer so I hope this will be okay - I guess it won't stretch as much as cxl, but I'm hoping no laces will balance this out!

A couple overcast shots of the shell loafer for color comparison with Alden #8.

@digga - The #8s look great - what size did you get and how do they fit?

@kwhite - if it's any consolation, I ordered the suede oxfords but they sold out by the time my order was processed

I got the shell loafer in 9.5D.  I have a 9D CXL loafer that I wear all the time, but the left one is a bit more narrow in the toes than I like.  The shell loafer fits me pretty well, but the left one is a bit too snug in the toes.  I'm still not sure if I will keep them.  For reference I take a 9.5E in barrie and 9.5D in Wolverine 1000 mile.

Saw some of the OSB trail oxfords at grahame fowler's in NYC this past weekend - nice work getting in there, great store.  Good for anybody local looking for sizing info as well.

#8s and navy suede crepe loafers arrived yesterday - they are pretty narrow so I'll have to see how it goes; I can feel the suede ones will be fine after a wear or two, but not sure about the #8s...maybe I should've got wider

I made a video featuring the Oak Street - Natural Trench Oxfords

Also, here are some photos I took today.
