Maybe a dated question, but here it goes: are the Trench Boots fitted with the same moccasin-style insole as the Trail Oxfords?

Also, are the toes reinforced with celastic?

I don't wear Quoddy so I can't say definitively, but when i've fitted people wearing Quoddy, and put them in their new pairs of oak streets, I think the feedback was that fit was similar - we might be a bit more forgiving in width...what do you guys think?

I'd go with Field Boot - that sole is a bit more accepting to rocks because it's not flat

Is the fit on the Field Boot the same as the Camp Boot? My local stockist doesn't have anymore Field Boots in my size.

We changed our moc insoles about a year ago. All Oak Streets (mocs and Trench Boots) have full length oak tanned insoles (rather than the 3/4 length chromexcel we used to use in the earlier days). These patina increadily, but most importantly, will last forever

Yes - our toes are reinforced with celastic (technically no one in the US uses 'celastic' anymore since styrene causes cancer - we use a thermal material instead).

You got it! Same sizing as the camp boots. They're made on the same last

George, thx for the reply. Can you do a non-reinforced toe box, without the thermal material, on the brogue cap toe version? I like the way the toe flattens with age:)

Thought this was pretty cool - I was cleaning up my Natural CXL Vibram Trail Oxfords today and caught a glimpse of "old" vs. "new"

Back when Independence was Shrine, I stopped in to peek at the goods and randomly met George during my stop in.  (I didn't know Shrine and Oak Street had any association at the time).  I tried on a few things and eventually ordered these from George a few weeks after visiting.  The natural CXL was a Shrine exclusive at the time (might still be??).  I have had these for a little over a year.  They have been my go-to casual shoe since I purchased them.

Anyways, here they are about a year later with an awesome patina on the CXL.  I was pulling the laces out and caught a glimpse of the original Natural color which you can just kinda see underneath the eyelets on the top shoe.  Standard regimen is buffing with Venetian shoe cream on a regular basis.

Pretty cool stuff!
