He's on my ignore list because of the pace of posting required to get him to 26,000 posts. But I saw his comment quoted by someone else and decided it needed to be called out.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but this is the number one thing that pisses me off about winter: On wool overcoats (also on some suit jackets) there is a sewed X connecting the open vents panels. Upon purchasing the item, it is pretty standard to remove the stitching and have a single vented jacket, or coat. HOWEVER, Since people buy jackets that are either profoundly retarded, or lack any sense of how a jacket is made, they leave this sewed X and wear the jacket so that most of the seam is open except for the bottom which is stitched together. Sometimes I just want to walk up to them with a pair of scissors.

Actual prayer request: "Pray for the republicans on the East Coast..."
She said this aloud to an audience of about 100 this morning. Another woman corrected her, "Conservatives. Pray for conservatives."
I was at the same time. No wonder I only go to church when dragged there.

Schlepped to JFK with two infants, their gear and our luggage yesterday. They told us all the way that flight was departing on time.

Spent 2 hours waiting to board, 4.5 hours on the plane going back and forth from runway to de-icing area (which of course is as far as humanly possible from the runway to make sure the wings get snowed and frosted by the time the aircraft is back in line for takeoff), then 5 hours inside the airport after they deplaned us and told us to wait for information only to tell us that the flight was now cancelled and that the luggage cannot be unloaded.

Airport was snowed in with no cabs, buses, trains or car service willing to come pick us up.

The positive is part is that I have some awesome friends. Called a buddy at one in the morning and asked him to get out of bed, go rent a car and come get us there because there was simply no other way. He's a good firend and I owe him one.

So 13 hours after leaving home, we were back home instead of in Paris. Did I mention the two 1 year-olds who had to go through this?

^^^My goodness, this sounds awful. I hope the infants handled all this well. Good luck with your flight tomorrow, and have a great time in Paris.

By the way, you have great friends. I can't think of one of mine that would have done this for me.

The economy in general and a government that insists it can fix everything by wasting more money.

My wireless router died last night. I ran out and bought a new one. Turns out wireless router compatibility is an issue for 64 bit OSs, and I did not know this. It also turns out that the matching laptops MrsG and I bought a few months ago are 64 bit. The router I bought won't work with our laptops. In fact, most routers won't work with our laptops. This whole process managed to eat up about three hours of my Sunday evening. Yay! I had to track one down that is compatible, and it cost almost twice as much as the one I bought last night. Plus, it was a lot cheaper on Amazon than it was any place else, so now I have to wait for it to get here. This means that I have very limited internet access for the next couple of days, which is really disappointing given I received a PS3 from MrsG when we celebrated our Christmas yesterday.
