I've heard here of brick & mortar stores banning people from making returns because the customers made what the store thought were too many.so if one were to use an alternate, you think they could pull it off? although getting a new card with a new billing address is a bit much just for an amazon account.
bo - did you explain to them your trip and that you were trying things out? would that make them change their mind? its not like you were buying things just to use once and then return. you were trying things out to decide what item is best for you. in a brick and mortar store that would be fine. no different than trying on 6 pairs of shoes in the store and only buying one.
