and I cannot and do not want to invite my folks over. such a dick move and I hate myself for doing this but they really rile me up and I get so fucking stressed out. and I'll hate myself more because of this "take the high road" bullshit and chances are I will eventually invite them because I'm gonna think- this has nothing to do with the kids anyway (besides the fact that their house is sort of near to our place)

Oy... Ya'll are much better than I ever am on this. My padre has to be the most frustrating individual in the world. As a result, I have said less than 20 words to him in several years. As you may remember from a prior post, I lost my mother sometime ago. My father told me that they were getting divorced on the eve of my law school graduation. Great time to break that eh?

My mom couldn't make the graduation b/c she was receiving treatment for cancer that was not supposed to be a big deal. So the summer I am studying for the bar, I am tossed in the middle of everything as the mediator. Let me say that copious amounts of booze was consumed. So it was study, freak, deal with drama, drink, and then call them screaming and yelling for putting me in the middle. My mom eventually gets better (for the time being) and my parents finalize the divorce.

So my mom falls ill to the cancer again and eventually passes. When we sell my Mom's house, which she got in the divorce, my dad asks for his cut (all my money went to pay for healthcare). When I got married several years later, I made sure to include him in the ceremony. He had a girlfriend at the time--- and caused a scene at the wedding b/c I didn't include the bish--- who I NEVER MET. A few scant months later, my Dad tells me he went to the Philippines (where the GF was from) and got married. No heads up or anything. It was planned in advance. No invite, no nothing. I swallow my pride... and invited them for crimmus when we bought my house. My Dad, who has off for crimmus due to plant shutdown, didn't come b/c of bs health issues concerning the bish. I told him if he didn't come, then to never expect me to speak to me again.

To the part that really boils my blood...

As I am researching my family tree, I see that my mom's grave pops up. My brother and I chose to leave it unmarked. Not sure why... we know exactly where it is is--- my sister is buried right there too. (with a marker). Suppose choosing the marker was a bit too much. I see that my padre put a joint marker on the plot.... it literally crushed me. All of the nonsense. And I see that.

The only point I spoke to my father in years was a moment of weakness when I was in trial prep and had not slept in weeks. I called him to tell him that he is a POS for it all.

End Rant.... bed needed soon.

^^ That is awful. Members of my family have made some very bad choices in their dealings with me, but I can chalk almost all of that up to various addictions. Because of that, it's relatively easy for me to let it go. Your father, on the other hand, just seems have acted in a gratuitously vicious way.

What people have to remember is that NO family is perfect and you only have 1 mother and father(for the most part.)

I have lost some family members in the last few years and also some good friends. All of the BS "generally" goes out the window when that happens.

Ouch. That's tough, sorry you had to deal with that.

Actually he sounds a little like a third uncle somewhere who's trying to un-do the divorce to my now-deceased aunt, because she got the share of the family ranch. Last I heard (and I don't ask, trust me I hate hearing this) his sons are suing his daughter (who is the sole heir of the aunt's estate) to get their purported shares of the inheritance, for what that's worth.

it's always disappointing, but not really surprising, how shitty people can be. in my family it's some of our in-laws that are utter garbage. my uncle (mother's brother) passed away - he was always kind of lazy and didn't have money, so during his illness his siblings paid for his medical bills. when he died they all chipped in again and paid for the funeral expenses. well, afterward we found out that his son-in-law had been stealing from these contributions.

the last time we all got together last year, he (son in law) was there. apparently he got drunk and complained to one of my cousins that the family treated him like a second class citizen. well, fuck you.

My neighbor using his fucking pressure washer (Karcher) all day long, 3 or 4 days in a week for 3 weeks in a row really pisses me off! He's currently busy cleaning his waste container for about the last 2 or 3 hours now :brick:  How can cleaning something like this take more than 10 minutes???

I really hate that damn high pitch sound! And whenever I think he's done, after being quiet for 3 minutes, the fucking thing goes on AGAIN.

on a side note zarah could now be possibly related to Acid or Me! bounce2.gif

I fully support Zara cutting his father out of his life. Just because they're your parents doesn't mean they can't be destructive assholes in your life. My mother can be pure evil and I have had her contained for a couple of decades as to how she can access to my life. One of my earliest memories of her is her explaining to me how the anti-Christ is already born and living in Europe and that the "time of the beast" would occur in my life. She was just full of nuture like that for my entire childhood.

So I'm waiting for fed ex today and I heard a knock at the door..I run to the door and a verizon cable door to door salesman is there..

Because I'm actually in a good mood today..and knowing how tough that job must be..I was not a complete dick and listened to his 15 minute spiel of how he could possibly save me money..which he couldn't..so I politely declined..

I want my 15 minutes back
