HB's sexual proclivities, folks.

Why else do you think I love you.

My mother is nutty as hell and she is overly sensitive. It is her birthday Sunday and I am responsible for sending her a card, which I write something nice in it. The thing is she is very critical of what I write. So, if it doesn't sound heartfelt enough, or sounds as if I wrote it in haste she gives me a guilt trip and goes on about how I don't appreciate her and such. It is really annoying, I think she just has too much time on her hands and wants to manipulate a reaction out of me for attention. To make things worse Mother's Day is around the corner where I have to send out another card with the same bullshit worded differently. So fucking annoying.

I struggle with the same. I'm terrible at writing heartfelt notes because I'm just not a very sentimental guy.

It's ok, most of us are dead inside.

I know you say this in jest, but it actually resonates with me. The older I get and endure more life stressors while encountering more fucking dumb people, the more pessimistic of a life view I adopt.

It sucks. I can sense it happening and I wish I could prevent myself from adopting such a mindset, but man, it's hard.

We have the same mother.

This morning was great. Text at 7am, "Hi honey! Good morning! Blah blah!" I didn't respond within 15 minutes so the next one is, "Is everything OK?? What's wrong?!"

Everything is fine, I am getting ready for my goddamn job. ffffuuuu.gif

The key to happiness: expect less from people.

That's my mother. When it was really cold out this winter she would call me at 5am frantically telling me to make sure I dress warm.

Also she emails me every morning at work these huge essays of family gossip. If I don't email back immediately with the same intensity of opinions as hers she flips out.

I find that I more enjoy life and living the less I care about stupid people and bullshit.

I try to focus my energies on things that make me happy. I usually stop thinking about work the second I step into the elevator...

I try to do the same, but it's exceedingly tough for me. Scumbag brain, I guess.

Ok, we seriously do have the same mother. uhoh.gif

She spends her entire day gossiping on the phone with her siblings and mother. And I often get the e-mail summaries.

If I don't text her back within an hour or two, I get an e-mail, and if no reply to that, a frantic series of phone calls.
