Also, yes, ter, the rules are different in DT. There are still standards, but they're not nearly as rigid as they are elsewhere. That different standard plays no small part in the fact that I very rarely mention my personal life down there. Also, note that I have intervened in DT when the line is crossed. Doing so is how I became the wiener mod.

Anyhow, Fang is welcome to return after his well-deserved time off, and I'm sure his commentary on the matter will include the well-spoken, enlightened insight we've all come to expect from him. Until then, I say we try to get back on track with the thread.

Some guy nearly ran me off the road yesterday. Boy, did that p me o!

I'm pissed off because a dear friend's mother just died and she was totally quiet about it. apparently she took almost 5 months off from work to take care of her ailing mother and didn't ask/accept any help from friends or family (financially) and now everyone/friends are scrambling to help out. The worst part is there has been some finger pointing to why friends didn't help out sooner facepalm.gif and its getting ugly publicly on Facebook.

I love those fb dramas! please share!

I went to my parents house and saw my dad has two prescriptions from a neurologist. I couldn't bring myself to look up what they treat and knowing my family we'll never talk about it.

"She told me you were sending her messages on Facebook. What were you two talking about?"

God, what's the point in introducing me to your friends if I can't interact with them on social media? smh

My office building recently switched from cards that you swipe through a reader to proximity cars that you simply tap or wave in front of the reader.

But they have mounted those readers too high on the wall (aka they are at a height where you might want them if you were swiping but are a bit high for simply tapping).

If they were a few inches lower, I could just tap them with my ass and avoid having to pull out my wallet to open a door frown.gif

My dorm had one of the proximity readers. It was a tad high but had a good range of where you could do a pelvic thrust with the wallet in the back pocket to get the door to open. Handy when you had a load of laundry

People who do this look silly and I look down on them (metaphorically, can't literally because short of stature).

I didn't think I would open a thread to read about people trying to find a more efficient way for a machine to tap their asses. But this is SF so why should I be surprised

I'm not saying I would do it all of the time, but if I am carrying stuff and nobody's looking...you'd better believe I would tap dat ass.

Whereas now they are at a height where a shorter woman who wears her ID on a neck lanyard could instead motorboat the reader.

There's this skateboard shop that I drive past everyday and I decided to check it out (my older brother was almost a professional skateboarder in the late 80's) and he's always talking about opening a shop of his own in San Francisco.

The second I walked in I felt ancient , teens/tweens walking/rolling around on boards around inside shopping for clothes and what not. Surprisingly they had a huge Disc Golf section, and unsurprisingly a large marijuana paraphernalia section so instead of leaving I looked around.

I'm in my mid 30's but damn I felt so out of place in there.
