I'm still trying to get the details, but I found out today that they think my godson might be autistic, and he may have hearing damage.

Grandma doesn't have long, I fear. She came over for Mother's Day dinner and she looks so small and frail. Simply moving around is becoming very hard for her. Needless to say it wasn't a joyful Mother's Day for us.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope you guys can enjoy the time she has left and find peace in her memory when the time comes.

yeah, it would be nice to adopt (because having an young/adult dog would be nice), but i'm turned off by this whole mess.

I think this is quite common. My best friend and his fiancé was looking into adopting a dog, but were totally turned off the idea because of the people working at the shelter. Among other things, they were asked if the dog would be their first priority even if they got kids (it was pretty clear that the shelter people considered the right answer to that question to be "yes"), and they were also told that the chances of them beeing qualified for adoption was slim because they both had daytime jobs so the dog had to be alone during the day. At that point it got pretty clear to them that a normal breeder was the way to go...

My parents coffee maker has vanished (probably broke, looks like my dad was looking for ideas on a new one on amazon based on the targeted ads I keep seeing today)

The combination of a big bag of frozen beans, an ancient blade grinder, and having not used a french press in forever is making for some rather off coffee...

It seems like some of these people just want to make it basically impossible to get a dog so they never have to have one returned. I get the motivation but it's one of those terrible penny-wise pound-foolish decisions. They're causing other dogs (at other shelters) to get put down because they won't adopt out to slightly suboptimal families, when the "optimal" conditions by their standards rarely exist.

She drinks a medium Cappuccino Blast 2-3 times a day... I try to convince her to slow down and maybe buy 1 a day, then slow it down to maybe 2-3 a week.

Unless those things cost like seven bucks apiece, you're a bit short there. That's 22 bucks a DAY.

Also something like 1800 calories (assuming it's three a day and not more), which is close to what the average woman ought to be eating in total.

There about $5.xx. I know for breakfast she get some type of sandwich and after work she will get a toasted Croissant. Then if she's still hungry around 8:00 she will get another cappuccino. Then sometimes she will buy something for the dog...

That's like something out of Fast Food Nation.

True, Blue Bags are also NSW cricket caps. I was too polite to say "scumbag cockroaches" so I just subbed in Blue Bags.

Toad! Just wait first state of origin game is 8 days away. And this is the year the Blues turn it around.
