That seems kind of like you should go see a doctor..

went to a departmental event because it was supposed to be a going away party for my old adviser/department head. Sat through some french lady that looked like skeletor reading her entire paper in abyssmal english (yet she somehow taught at oxford and columbia) on a topic so pedantic you'd think it was a term paper from an undergraduate course.
After all this was done, I find out my adviser didn't even show...
waste of five hours.

Diablo 3 comes out on tuesday. I dunno that I can ever get that far into a computer game again (just don't like to come home from work and sit at a desk anymore) but I definitely want to play through the first difficulty at least once.

I'll be off on work on tuesday, in another state at my parents place (there was a scheduling change *after* I bought my plane ticket so I have nothing to do on tuesday)...so I could potentially play all day.

BUT I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO PLAY IT ON! My old gaming computer that went to my parents won't be able to handle it (actually my current desktop probably could use a video card upgrade to play above the minimum settings...but my HTPC could definitely handle it). It is pretty old...beyond upgradability to play.
My work laptop might be able to squeak by on minimum...I can't find any info on how powerful the integrated graphics (thinkpad T400) are. So that *might* work...but will probably either fail or be crap.
I could probably make it work on one of my dad's powerbooks, but if he is shooting photos that day, I won't be able to use them.

Do they still have those LAN gaming centers/internet cafes where you can go and log in to your WoW account or play some CS? I might be willing to go hang out with the dregs of society (since who on earth goes to these things during the school/work day?) and pay to play.

Yeah my PC can barely handle Civilization V, so I don't think I will be playing Diablo III unless it gets a console release.

I think the requirements are fairly modest by current standards. I would think that most macs released in the last few years can handle it...and all but the super dirt cheap PCs (apple specs a minimum level of graphics on all their systems that cheap PCs never come close to) should be able to as well. The HTPC I built in november using some dirt cheap parts (the amd cpu+graphics combos) will be fine.

Problem is...my gaming desktop is from like...2007 and when I built it, I gave my parents the one they have now which was built in like late 2004 (although it received upgrades).

Websites down temporally like on the H&M website earlier.

Down for maintenance

We are currently carrying out maintenance work to ensure that you enjoy a smooth shopping experience. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later. Thank you for your patience!

That's so annoying!

Another example: Tea Party.

I would like to note that stitchy has 1900+ posts in this thread, far more than anyone else, despite joining three years after it was started.

This is not pissing me off, I just thought it was interesting.

Easy to get pissed off a lot living in Baltimore. It's the truth, I've spent time there.
