BB rant. My suit was suppose to be ready today (almost 3 weeks wait) so I called the BB store about the suit this morning. They told me that they couldn't find the suit in their ready rack & they need to call me back. I got a call back a few minutes later & I was told that they couldn't find the suit.

After not hearing from them for about two hours, I called them back & basically got the same story the first time I talked to them. I told them I coming down to the store to get this cleared up. I get to the store, they miraculously find the suit & their tailor has it. WTF! In my suit buying history, I never had a store tell me that they couldn't find my suit & I never got jerked around like I was today by BB.

Got home & there was a voicemail from BB saying that the SA spelled my name wrong on the tag. That's why they didn't find it. (Shaking my head with eyes rolled!)

^^ once you cross 1000 posts, that will never happen to you again. BB makes a dossier on you at 1000 posts, and are trained to know you on sight.

After 10,000 posts, they memorize your measurements.

BB is atrocious. I have had nothing but bad experiences shopping there, so now I spend my money elsewhere.

The good news is that Mr. Stewart will be relieved to find out that he doesn't have the StephenHero disease.

UPS rant

i purchased something, and it was shipped via ups. origin point USA. now, apparently, this was one of those ups/usps joint ventures. the ******* package was in baltimore at 11:09 PM, as of YESTERDAY. instead of delivering the item to my ******* house today, it was brought to a post office location IN BALTIMORE, to be delivered to me TOMORROW.

how in the **** does that make sense? i could understand it coming in to bmore late at night, and being dropped at the post office at night for next day delivery. but it was at a baltimore ups facility already last night. instead of putting on a truck to deliver to my house this morning, they bring it to post office, to bring to me tomorrow, which is likely the same amount of work and distance. WHAT THE ****.

Note to Big Skip, since my girlfriend and I haven't been able to get a free weekend to go to some groupon bed and breakfast that she ordered by the expiration date I tried to call them and ask if there was something we could work out in June. They essentially told me, "tough ****" and we had to eat the money. I now know where I am NEVER going to stay in the future. Their own marketing tactic bites them **********.

Sorry to hear that, man. We've got our getaway planned for the week after next. Of course, my wife tried to flush more money down the toilet when she answered a phone call from time share telemarketer. They convinced her to spend $150 to get 2 (or 3, not sure) nights at one of their resorts. We have to buy our own plane tickets, sit through a seminar, and pay the taxes on the difference between the "promo" rate and the "regular" rate. Apparently we can get our money back, which is what I'll be lobbying for.

We were having a heated discussion last week about a planned vacation for NYC in the fall. She was complaining about the cost, even though our current plans have the trip coming in under our original budget. So here's a trip that we've been planning for months and we know that we're going to enjoy and she's complaining about it, but she's perfectly willing to just blow what will eventually be $1,000 on some weekend jaunt so that we can sit through a fuckin' time share seminar.

I think it was actually living social.

They have been ruled to fall under gift card laws.

The "promotional" value can expire, but the actual value you paid still holds. So if you buy a $20 groupon to a restaurant for $10 and it expires, you can still use it at the restaurant for $10.

Centralized post office location vs. cost of paying a driver, fuel, etc. to go drop off the package at your house. It doesn't always make sense, depending on the route, but often [and especially with how ****** the gas mileage is on those trucks] it works out very well for UPS.

amazon does this a lot now. its FedEX to USPS or like in your case UPS to USPS. Sometimes they'll even hold your package for an extra day when you're ordering something that would normally take only a day (within UPS/FedEx 1 day zones) because its still within the amazon prime 2day delivery window.

its usually referred to as "super saver" shipping.

the only way I really avoid problems with deliveries from USPS/UPS/FedEx is that I get to know the usual delivery guys by name. That way you can circumvent signature confirmations when you know you won't be home (by just asking them to give it to the neighbor/leave it in a safe(r) place, ect ect).

I usually get pissed at how there are two separate divisions of FedEx (home delivery and express) because they deliver separately, aren't totally consistent with scheduled drivers and won't accept outward bound packages if its a express package and a home delivery truck.

I'm pissed that I'm the only one who knows how to cook in my house (hint hint... my wife doesn't know how to cook anything). We'll be both bushed and she'll be looking at me to start cooking while I want to just go out or get take out... I can still do the manly ****: hang a door, change a flat tire, basic repairs around the house... but women these days are almost proud of their non cooking aptitude - its not something to be proud of.

true... I don't get this at all. My gf can cook pretty well (not as well as me of course! :D) but my brother's gf is a waste of space in the kitchen. Cooking to her is reheating some ******* frozen burrito or some processed shite in a can. He bitches about it all the time and I'm just like :puzzled: wtf. I could cook better than she can when I was 12 years old!

A (probably former) friend of mine loaned me his extra car for a couple of weeks while I was getting some work done on my car. I went through the toll booths a few times (you can't pay tolls with cash here) and after I gave him the car back I told him to send me the toll bills and I would pay them. I never heard anything else from him and didn't chase him down over it. So then last week he sends me an email saying that my tolls added up to a couple hundred dollars. Basically he ignored these bills for a couple of months until they tacked on a bunch of extra fees, and now he wants me to pay for it. :fu:

The fact is, I want to pay for the actual tolls, which are probably 25 bucks, but I don't feel like giving him a dime at this point because he's being such a dick about this. Which sucks because he was really nice to let me borrow his car in the first place.

Rough draft due monday? WTF is this ****? I have a mandatory rough draft for peer review? Are we in grade school?

My classmates are ******* morons, except my co-nerdking, who would be reading the rough draft anyway, and I always get my **** reviewed by competent professors I know and trust.

*****, you're getting a prospectus, and you should be glad to get it.

Mostly former professors, but two who I still take classes with. Also a few people who are professor at other universities/in other departments.

I'm kinda good at nepotism/networking.
