My neighbor across the alley is working on his house. I hate the sound of his power tools, his blaring car radio (apparently my neighbors do too, as he just turned it down), the mess, etc., etc.

Mini-van drivers......some psychology PHD student should do his/her thesis on the correlation between purchasing a mini-van and the decline in driving skills.....I can't tell you how many times I have seen mini-vans in the left lane on a 65 mph highway doing 50 mph or under. There is a mini-van in my apt complex that takes up two spots EVERYDAY WITHOUT FAIL in my apt complex.

The way adult American males talk to each other. There is always this, sort of , "good-hearted" jabbing that is required , as if we were college-roommates. It is a modus operandi even in academia.
Sometimes it escalates into argument and more jabbing and even grudges, but it is all "in good fun".
What is with this infantile Bart-Simpsonesque way of relating to other people?

Add some sports metaphors and high-fiving and I am about to hurl.

Jaywalking in its various abuse:

1. The guy crossing the street, talking on his cellphone, and taking his sweet time and thereby making all cars stop in the middle of the road for his sorry ass to get clear

2. People who jaywalk about 5 feet from the crossing intersection, and creating the problem of point #1

3. See this a lot around me....guy at intersection, light is green but flashing so it will turn red very soon. He waits as a good citizen ought to, then decides right when the light turns yellow to start crossing, again leading to problem of #1

4. Saw this yesterday on way to tailor....guy running across a BUSY 4 lane + turning lanes (so 6 lanes technically) with his baby in a stroller on the red. Cunt couldnt even wait for the light to turn green (which it did as soon as he got across) and pushing his baby in tow. amazing.

In general, it's like people have so little control/power in their own life that the only place they can get it is in the middle of the road, as if to say "uh uh motherfucker, I'm crossing the street so y'alls better stop"

Man in NY I see this same thing happen at every corner along my walk to and from the office. Although, I can't say that I walk in the crosswalk even 1/2 the time myself.

What always irks me is when people walk in front of a car that has just crossed through most of the intersection on the green. The driver is forced to stopas well as whatever cars are behind them so this one idiot can cross the street. Inevitably, the light changes while they are stopped and the rest of pedestrians start crossing on the walk signal and now that first car as well as the cars behind them are blocking the intersection.

We have signs in Washington, D.C. that read, "Don't Block The Box"!

the act of jaywalking itself doesnt bother me if the person is hustling, which jaywalkers used to do years ago

But nowadays they take their sweet time, and if they're talking on the cellphone it makes me want to run over them, back up, and run over them again a few more times for good measure

that is so amusing . i see this all the time. whole families running across the main busy street (at night!) with children in hand.

what are they teaching the children? why are they showing them that they value haste over the protection of their children?i dont get it , but whatevers, i let them do it ; it is their life. theirs to lose. who cares. i dont care for those who dont care for the lives of children.

for me , i dont let it rip into me. they dont have control or power over their lives, i certainly dont let their senseless act ruin my day. i just laugh and shake my head.

There are signs like that in NY too. The problem is the driver is crossing the street on a green light and is forced to come to a stop by a pedestrian who is jaywalking. While the person takes their sweet ass time crossing the street the light changes and the other pedestrians start crossing, forcing the driver to block the box. If the first person hadn't jaywalked there wouldn't have been a problem.

My solution is make it legal to run down the inconsiderate ass who forced you to stop when you have the right away.
