So today I was marveling at how I'd managed to keep my iphone scratch free, but figured I should probably get a case for it. Decided to go at lunch and it fell out of my pocket as I was getting out of the car and the screen shattered.

Girl at work spent 15 minutes asking four different people a question when she could've looked it up herself on the company's website and gotten an answer within two minutes.

given the amount of research and design that obviously goes into the iPhone, as well as its huge popularity in Asia, for the life of me I don't understand why it doesn't have a place to affix a loop. This has saved me from dropping my phone on the subway or in the street (almost the sewer once!) many times...plus it's a big thing in Asia to have some decorative **** hanging off your phone. It may not have helped you here, but at least you can loop it around your finger or wrist even if you're paranoid. Anyway that sucks BIG time... sorry to hear that Mordecai.

I never thought of that. That's an awesome idea. Email the company.

almost all of my previous phones have had it, and when I lived in Taiwan, the only phone that DIDN'T have it was the iPhone. there are even designer cell phone loop straps (Bottega, LV, Gucci etc all make them) and it was a real topic among my friends when it came out. Like "why the **** doesn't it have a loop for a strap ?!" Especially given that they are expensive and subject to total destruction when dropped even once. I can't believe Apple is not aware of this... i dunno. I had one and would just loop it around my pinky finger when using the phone. Prevented me from dropping it when people bump into you on the train or you just get fumble fingers while texting.... it really did save me from total loss when it fell from my hand while standing at the curb over a gigantic sewer grate!

I dropped my keys into a sewer grate once. I almost blew my brains out right then and there.

We got a dusting this year. We usually get a fair amount of snow. It has been a record warm winter this year, I hope this leads to a record cool summer.

No snow here to speak of for this winter. 70 degrees and clear outside right now. :)

A new panel is like $25 at Apple or one of those "other" places that does repairs. Shouldn't be a big deal.
