Really, I just want next fall to come. I want my sexy uniform, and I want to start working toward what I want. nod[1].gif

I went through that my last semester of college--- about half way through --- as I was trying to finish my thesis. I had really tried to limit my attachment to people that year, as I knew I was headed somewhere far far away. Email still wasn't a thing and the closest thing we had to social media was collegeclub.com. At that point I realized all my friends, my crushes, and such would all go on without me and I without them. It was soul crushing to the point I was bringing White Russians to my morning classes just so I could deal with it. As someone I once knew said, "the world feels nice and small in the fog, easy to deal with. only one kind of pain and one set of rules to deal with it."

Don't know your social situation, but meaningful one night relationships with undergrads soothes the savage beast within....

5-9 and 186 with low body fat is absolutely possible but that's a lot of muscle mass. Are you a bodybuilder Finn?

*Without a long digression, I'll just note that this is neither the first (nor the second) time in the years we've known each other she has announced that she has cancer or something similar. I understand that this time she has had a biopsy performed at her doc's recommendation, leads me to take this instance more seriously than I otherwise might.

This really sucks, LD. I've been through the exact same type of thing with a few family members, and it's terrible. On one hand, your gut is telling you they're doing something awful by exploiting a serious illness for attention, but, on the other hand, you feel like a terrible person because you're questioning the honesty of someone who has told you they might be dealing with a serious illness.

I'm not sure what to say (good luck?), but I definitely sympathize.

How dare you judge our BBMs. Their curves are something Merican society should celebrate not denigrate.

I left on Thursday for a trip, sponsored and paid for entirely by a brewery, for the entire weekend. It was awesome. Had a lot of fun. Lost my phone, broke a tooth, got about 3 hours of sleep across 4 days. Drank some incredible beer, including a barleywine from 2008. A pretty successful trip for this particular place.

Was feeling really, really good about my career.

Then I got back to work on Monday.

Thanks, G. I appreciate it.

Not going to turn this into a "lawyerdad explains all of his ex's problems" thread, but I feel I should clarify that in this context I'm not questioning her basic honesty so much as her reliability as a source, if that makes sense. It's not that I suspect that she is just making it up, but rather that it would not be out of character for her to seize upon and convey a more catastrophic and definitive interpretation of the information she has been provided (e.g., "but it's not confirmed until the bloodwork comes back"). People are freakin' complicated sometimes.

The cabbie's pay 6% on all CC transactions. This is really really fucked up compared to that cost for other machines. Like at least 2x as much. There is a single owner of most of the medallions in Boston. He was paid off by the CC companies to stick it to his drivers that lease out from him. I had a friend that looked into investing on the spread between leasing a medallion bed the vehicle plus medallion. Some interesting stuff. He thinks cabbies are fucked hard by the owner of the medallions and cards.

Fuck this guy. I honestly feel bad for the cab drivers.

Sucky situation but I'm sure you'll handle it like the mensch you are. Hope she is okay and this announcement is erroneous.
