I guess so. I'm in my final semester (only one class), and I just feel like an outcast on campus (and I feel creepy). Many of my old "friends" have all dropped out or continue living irresponsibly. I have no desire to make new friends with undergraduates--I'm sick of overly idealistic youth.

Really, I just want next fall to come. I want my sexy uniform, and I want to start working toward what I want. nod[1].gif

My ex has announced that she "definitely" has thyroid cancer, although "it won't be confirmed until the bloodwork comes back."

Most f*'d up part of it, of course, is that she may have thyroid cancer.
Second most f*d up part of it is that, based on experience*, I find myself phrasing it in terms like "has announced that", because I am not entirely certain whether to believe her. (Which, of course, makes me feel like a douche.)

*Without a long digression, I'll just note that this is neither the first (nor the second) time in the years we've known each other she has announced that she has cancer or something similar. I understand that this time she has had a biopsy performed at her doc's recommendation, leads me to take this instance more seriously than I otherwise might.

There's an old lady on my street who walks her dog every night at the same time, as I walk mine and she winds me up the wall, I have tried changing times, but she is always there and she leaches on to me, so I'm stock with her for the entire walk.

She doesn't stop talking, has her shitty papillon is on a 90 mile flex leash, which is always on at full length, so her dog almost tackles me daily and takes up the entire sidewalk.

That David Foster Wallace committed suicide.

No, I did not just find out, but it makes me incredibly sad again to think of how he succumbed to his depression.

Random, but just was reminded of his sheer thoughtfulness, as a friend just posted his This is Water speech on FB. It really struck a chord with me as work and life have been stressing me out lately, again, but I feel energized after having listened to his thoughts.

Oy... Sorry to hear that. Don't know your relationship with your ex, but seems like a situation where even in the best case, no good can come of it.

I have had similar events happen on both professional and personal levels. the fact that I even questioned something like that made me feel like the worst person in the world. The thing is --- what was said and what was reality never matched up. Even then, I still felt like shit for questioning.

I workout 5 times a week and wear 31-32 in chino, mostly due to my ass.

Hah. I don't know if Finn is fat, but I made the same general observation: I'm 6'1" and change and he has 5-10 lbs on me. I'm on the lean side of average but not rail-thin or anything.
