WTF, I would have been just as rude and told him to forget it because you wanted it to be small

This lady I work with is so nutty. Everything is always a huge issue for her. We took our boss out to lunch because he is moving to another department and this lady is asking the waiter a billion questions about every item on the menu. You would have thought she was buying a city block of commercial real estate. After the lunch she comes over to me whispering and looking over her shoulder like she is going to tell me something juicy and she just said she hated the restaurant and complained about the food in my ear for like an hour and she wanted my opinion. I wanted to punch her in the neck for being weird and wasting my time. I just shrugged and said, "I got a salad. Salad is salad, I have no strong opinions on the matter. It is not like we went to a Michelin star restaurant here."

Mind you this is the same chunky woman who eats all damn day and is Ms. Healthy eating.

So annoying and weird. Makes everything, little insignificant things like they are the end of the world all of the time.

holy shit, they were screwing around with each other (the two kids), and one was constantly yelling OW. OWWW. OW OW OWWWWW.

a co-worker from several office down emailed me asking WTF is going on, and who thought it was OK to bring two rotten children to the office. Just because you like kids doesn't mean everybody likes kids!!!

It's not kids who are the problem, it's shitty kids and their shitty parents who disrespect others.

We have some parents who have to bring their kids in occasionally when school shuts down for random reasons. They are generally supremely well-behaved - quiet and respectful, sit in the cafeteria (or on the floor in the parent's cube) and color or read or play games quietly. It is not a problem on the 4-5 times a year it happens.

These are middle-class people who are serious about their jobs.

I wonder if sometimes higher-salaried professionals who have nothing really to fear over their job position are worse. Their kids are overprivileged special flowers who are encouraged to express themselves. (not always, obvi)

Kids at work is the worst. The thing that makes it worse is coworkers love it and give them so much attention and make a million "new employee" jokes. I ignore them completely.

"new employee"

"well that explains our shitty stock performance"

The only kids I like are my own and I don't have any.

With that being said, I don't think it's a matter of salary, it's a matter of the people who are becoming parents now, where helicopter children and think their children and entilded to do what ever the fuck they want.

Woke up this morning with the dogs at the foot of our bed - nothing usual. Get dressed, go to walk downstairs and I can see things scattered about. One of the dogs (I know which one) got in to a sewing kit. There's missing needles and pins from the bag.

She's chewed up a few of my ties, almost a shoe, a seriously expensive hat of mine, etc. But today, the needles. On carpet. Great.

I was at the park the other day playing some ball and these 8-9 kids were picking on one kid. He was standing alone with his arms at his side with a bloody nose. He had to be 5 years old. I felt so bad for him, I told the other kids off, took him to the office and cleaned him up. He also had a semi-serious cut on his hand. Said it was from the other kids, "being jerks."

Tried to call his parents from the office but they didn't come for half an hour. It's a softball/volleyball park and softball players at that particular park are pretty shitty people. They were probably drunk or in the middle of a game not caring. I had to leave so I left him with the office reps but I have no idea what happened after that.

Shitty parents are the worst.

the worst part about about shitty parent is that they almost inevitably produce shitty kids who them become shitty parents... revolve.gif

I'm not a parent. But I'm not a parent because I realize I shouldn't be just yet. I don't have a completed list of prerequisites for them, so to speak. And unlike every other parent in AZ, I refuse to just pop them out left and right for money.

"Idiocracy" wasn't actually a movie. It was a foreshadowing. Watch the trailer.

Today is a day in ATlanta where a 22oz worsted suit would not be a bad idea. Our office AC is apparently on the "meat locker" setting.
