Things that are pissing you off. - Page 3218

I have been laid up with a cough all weekend. My wife suggested I not go down to the beach with her for the weekend (the in-laws live down there, about 3 hours away) which was probably the right call but the upshot is that I have been sitting on the sofa all weekend eating ramen and watching awful TV. (I actually watched one of the Resident Evil movies cuz nothing else was on, not to mention the freaking Orioles got swept this weekend.)

Anyways, I'm pie-eyed from watching TV, stiff as a board because I'm achey from being sick and probably also from laying on the couch. Still not quite all the way back - I'm super restless and feeling OK at times but when I get up and do stuff like laundry or try to clean etc. I start to sweat and get all clammy. A buddy of mine is having some drinks at the wine bar in the neighborhood and I really want to join but I'm torn between how I'm feeling, needing to rest up to have a good week this week at work, and the likely shitstorm that will rain down from my wife if she knows I went out after ducking out of a family weekend, even if it was the right thing to do.

And my wife is already angry that I'm not setting a Dr. appt. for tomorrow. Why do women always want you to go to the Dr? She's saying I could get them sick if I don't "deal with this" but there's nothing to do. It's a fucking cold. There's nothing to do other than wait for it to pass.

Anyways, housebound, bored, restless, still feeling cruddy. ffffuuuu.gif

Don't go out brah. You know how it goes when you're sick. Start feeling better, think you're okay, have an active half day and then you're down for another solid three days because of it.

Doug, that is beta shit. Go have a drink but only stay an hour. You need to get out a bit but not too much.

we have visiting relatives (as I might've mentioned earlier) and I like them a lot and we get along, and they're staying at my folk's place. I do find it peculiar that we (my wife, kids and I) are never invited by my family to go with them during weekends when they go on driving trips out of town but I know that my sibling, cousins and other relatives joins them. and it's not that I feel like I should be invited, or that I wanna go at all since I'd rather spend my sundays lying down after doing my morning thing but it really puts things in perspective about my dynamics with this family.

Got sunburned as shit.

I'm very tired from being social. I need a week of just being alone.

The longest day of the year has come and gone meaning we're getting less and less summer (and my existential streak continues.)

I'm incredibly nervous about the GMAT and getting into business school and just worry that if I don't, I'll be stuck here for life (I know the last is irrational, but utterly horrifying as I have no desire to be here anymore, or even stay in the industry).

The worst part about the above is that I'm now at the age where people start to make something of their lives and I just feel like I'm years behind which is also a bit absurd. My resume is very good but I still don't make money, I still don't have a good title, I still am not doing anything at all that I even want to do... It just wears on me. And I am very much like Piob where I know work is a means to and end but man... I just hate how I ended up in this job, how I wasn't smart during school...

funny, actually the wife came home early and didn't want dinner, told me to do whatever I wanted. She actually encouraged me to go out and meet my buddy.

I didn't. Glad I didn't. Got a good night's sleep instead and I am back to, say, 80%.

I guess Connecticut isn't so bad. The wife and I looked at places in Darien, Norwalk, and Stamford. Man I'm already missing Brooklyn. And if we actually move, its 50/50 we might just stay put (what I'm hoping happens) she's in Asia and Europe (one week work then another week in the homeland with her family) so I get to handle all the moving.

In fairness the house(s) in Norwalk were beautiful but the area was really whitewashed . There was this epic dog run, Taylor Farms, it must have been 20 acres with woods and a lake with a fountain that was awesome.
