My guy came on the early side of his window.

Unfortunately, my intermittent problem was not happening while he was here so he couldn't really do anything. He tightened up some cables outside (not clear if they were my cables or someone else's) and gave me a new modem. Maybe the new modem will fix it...

That's always ridiculous when they send you a technician for a problem that only happens infrequently and they can only do something about it when it actually happens.

The technician to unlock my internet/telephone access will finally come on Tuesday. Sometime between 8 am til 4 pm. And I'll have to make sure that three doors (to the switch boxes), none of which I've got the keys for, will be open.

Well, I mean...what else do you expect them to do? There might be a clear problem at 10pm when I'm on the phone, but they aren't going to send out a tech then.

It could be something to do with having an aging modem (he said he thinks of them as being good for 2 years and I've had it since early 2010)..so he might have fixed it. Otherwise, I thought it might have something to do with the cabling. He didn't replace any of the cable (it tested fine), but its one of those things where cable installers all suck, so the backside of my building has a billion different strands of coax going every which way...so maybe him jostling them around and tightening up connectors was enough to fix my problem.

edit: possible conspiracy theory. Somebody trying to steal internet may have cloned my modem (I tried to do this once many years ago and was unsuccessful, but that's the gist of how it works) and thus whenever they are using it on the same cable loop, there is a bunch of interference and we both get bad performance. Replacing the modem should fix this (since it will have a new hardware ID).

The guys are doing a great job. What happened is I noticed a bit of bubbling of the plaster in the den wall on the other side of our master shower. I got a flash light out and found there was no grout in a long seam on the built in soap shelf. So I called out a friend that owns an environmental restoration company, and sure enough, had black mold in between the walls. The builder is an acquaintance of mine so I called him and he said that was a material fault and his company would cover the cost of restoration (he knows the owner of the restoration company very well too) so no bill or anything but a couple visits are required. They did the remediation last week and this week is the first visit to replace the area of wall they had to take out and seal up the soap shelf with a painted on membrane. Next week to finish the plaster and tile work and done.

Bit of a PITA but no money out of pocket and the last thing I want is black mold in the house I plan to spend the next 20 or so years in.

On Monday I had to use the shitty rack and managed to go through 5 sets of squats to her one set of arm curls (the rest of her time was spent socializing).

People go to the gym at 5:30am to socialize?

Usually girls are terrified of cages, almost never see a woman using one even if they're doing squats (which is rare).

Sounds annoying, I've dealt with girls like her way to much.
Believe me he is much much worse, at 31 he borrows one of his parents cars daily, he has a key so he just drops by and takes it and he takes without asking and he takes the nice one which my aunt needs due to her back also he never fills it back up etc. and they do his laundry, helps pay his rent and he eats at least one meal a day at their apartment.

Lazy fucker

I went to visit his parents a couple years ago in my new car and the fucker told me I would never spend that much on a car, not congrats or anything, almost slapped him.

I am so sick of this. And I'm pretty sure the entire Northeast will continue to be soaked over the weekend.

I hear you. I don't like rain when I have something "important" planned for the day either. When I just need to run some errands or so and will spend the rest of the day home, I don't mind it. But it messes up the hair, clothes and such. Still, it leaves a nice smell. I love the smell after a rainy night.

But who am I to cry. We've probably had four weeks of fantastic weather. 70-80°F, pure sunshine. Awesome. Now it's our turn for some mediocre weather.

People on craigslist are such assholes. If you're in the middle of talks about an item and they happen to sell it, they just start ignoring you until you stop bugging them. A simple "sold" would be greatly appreciated.
