parking ticket "cops". Got another ticket for some inane violation... parking w/in 10ft of a fire hydrant when there is actually a goddamn parking meter w/in the 10ft radius! So if I'm not supposed to park there why is the f'ng meter there? Got the ticket, took pictures, filed an appeal and naturally I won. ticket dismissed. but what a waste of time...

kids who go up and talk to the professor every class, with stupid and mundane bullshit questions and feign some sort of educational epiphany after their simple question has been answered. I mean, its so obvious they are trying to get face time with the prof and furthermore that their face time is based on playing into the professors own ego. so ******* stupid.

It's a bit annoying from the professor's point of view too! I've got better things to do with my time than having bs "facetime" conversations with students. Of course I'm just speaking for myself, but I recognize it for what it is, and I'm not especially impressed by it. In fact when students overdo it, it makes me think worse of them. (Of course I also understand why students do it, so I don't judge them too harshly.) It really is not that difficult to tell the difference between genuine enthusiasm for the course material and attempts at impression management.

Got a $400 ticket this past September for going 25 km/h over the limit in a neighboring province (~8 hours away).

Sent out the money, and apparently forgot to write the case number.

Money was returned, but I had moved, and it didn't get to me.

Leaving the country for a week on Friday

Courts call me, stating a warrant, and I have to appear next week in court.
I tell them about my vacation, they tell me I will be arrested at customs immediately.

What a nightmare.

lol @ canada.

fwiw, technically i am not allowed to enter canada and yet I have. pretty sure customs has much more on its plate than arresting someone for failure to pay a moving ticket. Just, fwiw.

Shouldn't you just auto-post this every week?

I did a calculation. I found that if I could find a job where I can work 3 hours per day from 3pm to 6pm I would be really happy. Oh yeah, I need to make nine figures doing it too. NINE.

I just found out that one of my oldest friends is dead from an apparent OD. This guy was one of my best friends in high school - we were in our first real band together, I got drunk for the first time with him, we used to scam girls together, the whole nine. People used to think we were brothers because we were the two kind of scary kids in HS with the long hair, leather jackets, ripped jeans, and band t-shirts. We were good friends well into our 20s, and, though we haven't been as close in recent years, he was always that kind of PITA brother to me. He could be infuriating and frustrating, but he could also be kind, and the moment we got back together it was like nothing had changed. He was also incredibly creative, probably in the top five guitarists I've ever met, and brilliant. It always bothered me that he let all that languish and never put it to use.

Goddammit, Brian, all that ******* "We Die Young" bullshit was just **** we talked when we were idiot future rock stars. The rest of us grew out of it. Why didn't you?
