Things that are pissing you off. - Page 3005

We have an offsite coming up and as a part of a team building exercise we need to fill out a questionnaire and one of the questions is: "if you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?"

I'm so tempted to write Jesus Christ.

If I had a job offer somewhere else, I totally would. Fuck!

Well, I haven't used one in the last 9 years. 6 of which I didn't even own one.

my family didn't have a microwave for years at a time during the early 90's. my parents were paranoid about something with plastics and carcinogens. they still don't have a microwave until today. i can see how its useful though and personally will use a microwave for: popcorn, leftovers (like white rice).

for things like popcorn back in the day we had a popping machine that even had a little tray on top to melt butter simultaneously (my parents still have the machine I think).

things like left over thai food, chicken, pizza is easily re-heated in a skillet and or oven. it takes a little longer (maybe 10min on low broil) but the results are a lot better/tastier.

Growing up we had a microwave before anyone else I knew. It was the beginning of the end of my Mom's willingness to cook.

Big difference between parents (70's and early 80's), not owning one even after they were popular and Mr Booth. Mr Booth claims to have spent a large sum on a microwave merely for a quality fan -the main reason to own the appliance goes untouched.

Thankfully that never happened in my home. On the flip side, millions more college students ate at home.

My parents always had a microwave, and we got use out of it. I had one in college and a little after but haven't owned one for about a year. Not that useful to me. My crockpot, on the other hand, is a lifesaver.

Does anyone else here fly with JetBlue?

Their fucking TrueBlue Mosaic program sucks monster gorilla dick and the bitch I talked to on the phone was, well, such a bitch. Literally every single other airline I've flown with will try to status match you or try to earn your business somehow by not being such sticklers to their policies.

Well, not fucking JetBlue. Every flight you fly per year counts towards membership towards the following year and doesn't kick it until the following year. So, if you hypothetically flew enough flights from Jan '13 - March '13 to gain Mosaic status, you wouldn't reap the benefits until Jan' 14. That's retarded as fucking fuck. Not that the benefits are all that great, either, cause they don't even have first class. With all the other airlines, the moment you fly enough for status, you gain the status perks from that day onward.

Not only that, but I've been flying with them exclusively since August '12 and if they counted all my flights and points since then, I would be granted membership into the Mosaic program. I asked if they could extend me a courtesy and count those flights (this is what I'm talking about not being sticklers to corporate policy; other airlines would be like sure, we could do that for you if you've been loyal) towards this year and grant me Mosaic and she flat out said no.

I said, 'That's very disappointing to hear. I will be flying with American from now on.'

Stupid bitch.

I use the microwave all of the time at work. If I have leftover pizza, I will stubbornly stand in the office kitchen reheating it on a covered skillet (because fuck microwaved pizza), but otherwise I'm not above microwaving leftovers for lunch in the office.

I've stopped using my crock pot. Probably haven't used it in a year and a half...Any time I've wanted to make something that could be done in a crock pot, I've done it in a dutch oven in the oven/on the stovetop.
