So sorry for your loss, I wish there was something to say that would make it a little less heartbreaking.

You guys have already said such things, and I appreciate it enormously.

It's strange to start thinking of what my life is going to look like without Genevieve. I know that sounds overdramatic, but I've altered my life in a thousand ways to accommodate her. For example, I have been sleeping on the floor for almost two years so that she would be able to sleep next to me. (Do not tell that to my family; they would kill me.)

Fun fact: The name by which my cat was called 99% of the time was not actually Genevieve, but rather Wheatie. (That's what I named her when she was a kitten.) But she told me that she would like to go by a more dignified name when she was being spoken about in the company of the better sorts of people. I asked her to choose her own dignified name, and she chose Genevieve. So on the forum, she has always been Genevieve.

I'm really sorry to hear about it, L'Inc. One thing I've learned over the years, the pain fades with time but the good memories don't.

Their lives are brief and our memories are long frown.gif

Good night sweet Genevieve.

This is really a wonderful post. Even though you are feeling a tremendous amount of grief your love and affection for Geneveive still comes through. She was lucky to have you, and you her.

L'Inc, you need to go see Larry Carlton tomorrow night. It will help take your mind off your loss.

I have 2 sister cats, and they are about 6 yrs old. The thought does cross my mind on what it will be like when the first of them dies, and what the other will do. I mean, they've been together since day 1 of their lives.

Condolences L'Inc. Sounds like she was a great little beast.

I have to say it's a neat sign of the community here that we have something like 30 posts in sympathy for Genevieve.

Just got back in early from my scheduled happy hour. Something very upsetting has occurred. The owner, a semi-absentee owner who is about 75 and very wealthy, suddenly fired the entire staff last week and I do not know a sole person working there. The bartender has gone from a late 30-something male who is just an excellent fellow to an early 20s bleached blonde, big titted, crappy bar wench. The GM has gone from a very classy Asian/Hawaiin lady sommelier to a bleach blonde, sun-dried trailer trash.

That's shitty. Why'd he fire everyone?
