You need a secured credit card.

Pretty simple process, as long as you can round up a few hundred bucks. Once you've had that for a while, it should be no problem getting a card.

As others have suggested, the skeezier credit card companies (like capital one) might still be willing to give you a card without having to go the secured route first...as long as you pay your bill on time (and in full), the skeezy terms they use won't matter.

Bank of America offered me a card when I was 18, so you may try them. I declined, and waited until I was 20 to get one.

Only $90 was for the room, the other $60 was for the locked car. I don't mind spending the money on the guy, and I'm not mad about it, just shitty timing as im saving for my own wedding and in 3 other weddings this spring, and following a tight budget as a result.

I only have two credit cards that I use regularly, the aforementioned capitol one and a Red Sox Bank of America Master Card that I got because we were in Fenway during the playoffs in 2007 and it was so fucking cold that we went up to this kiosks that gives out redsox branded blankets if you sign up for one of their cards. I purposely tried to fill out the paper work in really illegible bad hand writing with ambiguous numbers for my address/SS no./ect and I still ended up getting the Red Sox Master Card in the mail a week later.

It had had/still has weirdly high credit limit (like over 10K) even back then when I was still in school and my wife was working an entry level bank job.

What a fucken coincidence!!
I applied for the Bank of America Credit card that gives you $25 a month for paying it on time. (Guess it's new)
Waiting to see If I get approved even tho I have ZERO credit history.
If I get denied I might look into the deposit one or the Capitol One.

Fingers crossed.

I have a few cards as I like to keep exposure limited and it makes for easy tracking. I have one card that is just for internet wine purchases and one card that is just for other internet purchases (including Amazon). I keep both at 10k limits so if they were to get hacked damage in limited. Then I have my AMEX that gets the vast majority of use and I keep a spare Visa in my wallet for the occasional place that doesn't take AMEX.

Fascinating, isn't it?

The existence of smart phones has changed the way people occupy space, entirely for the worse. People stand in the middle of staircases and crowded hallways sending or reading texts, oblivious to the world around them. And no one except the olds (such as me) finds this especially problematic; it's just normal.

what's the point of adding myself to the waitlist on MyHabit if I click on the email within 60 seconds of it arriving and the item is already sold out again?

probably was a return and 20 people got the same email, and the first responder gets it. either way, sucks that you missed out.
