Thoughts on "No worries"? I find myself saying that often. Though, if a person seems truly grateful and isn't just offering up a courtesy, I'll go with "My pleasure." In any event, I don't think I've said "You're welcome" in a very long time.

Dammit... Partner to my future business endeavor's getting cold feet with its growth potential and might back out... And he's supposed to be the strategic partner being he's part of that industry for so long and I need his input more than his capital. Fuck!

This woman next to me has a cough and never thinks to cover her mouth. She goes into a coughing fit about once a minute, and just sits there still typing or whatever, no attempt made to cover her mouth. It's disgusting.

I had a cleaning at the dentist today, which meant nitrous oxide. Usually I have pseudo-profound insights, along with a feeling that I am going to die and I won't care enough to take preventative action. But today neither happened. I did, however, think the hygienist was one of the most beautiful ladies on the Earth. (She's not really, although she is attractive to be sure.)

If she was hot, would it still be disgusting? (this of course assumes the disgust is somewhat related to the non-hottess)

Most likely. And she is decidedly not.

I have criminal clients thank me all the time. An alleged kid Toucher thanked me for convincing the judge to lower his bail last week. I told him "just doing my job." I haven't said "you're welcome" in a decade.

Come to think of it, I've been saying "hey no problem" in lieu of "you're welcome" for about as long.

I often say "you bet." I also sometimes say "graag gedaan."

On rare occasions, I say "thank the Lord instead, who worked through me as I performed the act in question."

On "you're welcome," I'm a "no worries" guy with a fair number of "no problem" thrown in there, but I can see being peeved when someone on the service end of a transaction doesn't say "you're welcome/thank you."

Of course, we all know the greatest response to a patronage-related "thank you" is the Chick Fil-A "my pleasure."

People who do that aggravate the hell out of me. "Thanks for the easily-preventable cold, asshole."

Who do you think the family was praying to while you were on trial for midget rape? It wasn't god giving that closing argument that saved your life. You think I have a god complex? Let me tell you, I am god.

Not sure How to feel about this that I saw on the net as a description for boot trees:

The ........... Shoetree is intended for European-made shoes and features a "European" last style. Because these are crafted in France, instead of Asia, the finishing and consistency between pairs is incredible.

I think that it is clear that the English, the Italians and the French have been making shoes, at least the shoes coveted and purchased by SF members, for much longer than Asians. But isn't there some other way to espouse the quality of something, without appearing to, albeit subtly, putting down something else?

I'm generally not so bothered about PC-ness but, regarding the above, am not sure.

And what about the excellent Japanese shoemakers out there?

What do y'all fellas think?
