Alot of those as of late.  

I see this stuff but it's from other Canadian people on my FB which makes the postings all the more odd. Picture of a half naked women holding M-1 and saying something like "You never know when you need a home defense weapon". I understand that sex sells but this impies something else that is not sexy while stil attempting to use sex, uhg.

Pol. Sci. and Econ....yes I know both are worthless degrees, but any undergrad is fine as I am going to grad school to advance in the field I work in (marine industry).

i think econ is actually one of the most financially rewarding degrees right out of undergrad. maybe it's skewed by all the ibankers tho

Depends if it's a BSc in Economics or not, really. Because he's also doing Poli Sci, I doubt it.

apparently it's a ba cuz they require you 2 years of foreign language and a bs if they require you 1 year of math and science. but my school requires both so i have no idea

Why is that nonsensical?

Pol. Sci. BA - No required quantitative courses, bullshit "well-rounded" required courses (such as 15 hours foreign language, humanities classes, etc), limit on 40 hours in discipline

Pol. Sci. BS - Quantitative courses are required, economics courses required, program allows student to take more than 40 hours in pol. sci.

You do realize that most Political Science journals are quantitative?

It is entirely just a naming convention. Some schools have both, some only do BS and some only do BA. Usually schools that offer both make the BS more quantitative, but unless you are intimately familiar with the particular school's course catalog, you can't judge just from knowing if someone has a BA or BS.

I don't even remember which I have...but we only offered one and we did not have a shitty econ program.

edit: I looked at my work's website and it says I have a BA...(actually A.B. because you know...latin...) so that's probably what I have. I just know that our Econ requirements forced the quantitative stuff on everyone (econometrics, some multi-variable calc, some linear algebra, etc).

So for once I decided to get to the airport early for a flight to the west coast. The interstate was shutdown, completely, in all directions around the airport because of a 40 vehicle accident.

After speeding to get there, I ran as fast as i could and made it, but at the departure time. Fortunately the crew was late, but just arrived. Took two over two hours when it's typically a half hour.

I can't wait to get seated and relax. Nerves have been on edge.

The publisher we had our next big contract with just backed out with no notice. Me = laid off. Lots of longtime employees from every department got the axe, too... Rough day at the office for sure. I've never been in a workplace where the axe fell like that and man is it a miserable feeling.

Awesome fucking job, too. Ah well, onwards and upwards and all that.
