Why is it odd? That's how you're supposed to say it because you buy INsurance INcase something happens. Duh.

No, that ain't right no way. You buy In-SUR-ance so you can be sure things will be okay if something bad happens.

Also ed, I believe it's "suppose to," not "supposed to." I certainly don't hear a "d" in there.

Well I'll be damned, you might just be right.

Lately I'm getting e-mails of two kinds, both of which annoy me.

1. Students send me e-mails, but don't tell me who they are. Usually I can figure it out from their e-mail addresses (assuming they actually use their university e-mail addresses).

2. Students tell me that they are going to miss class. And then they ask this: "Am I going to miss anything?" I want to start answering all those e-mails sarcastically. "No, you are not going to miss anything. We are just going to chill today."

Ed, "spose ta" and "fixin' to" mean very different things. Your "correction" leads me to have very serious concerns regarding your Southern-boy cred.

This. Ed, I'm starting to be concerned about you.

...

So we get calls on a regular basis from truckers who have a pick-up appointment and want directions. I have an office full of people who have lived here their entire life, but can't give fucking directions. In fact, some of them have been working at this very establishment for a number of years - one has been here 15 years now - and none of them can give directions.

I have been reading a lot of presentations where it's said that "our core tenants are...", or "we must keep to our key tenant of..."

I just realized that they are all referring to tenets. For awhile I was thinking that we had rented out the building while I wasn't looking and these new people somehow now had a say in how we ran the company

Irregardless the point is mute for all intensive purposes.
