if its a manifestation of stress...then even if you cut out booze, fat, and cigarettes the sheer stress will flare up the ucler anyway. better to find out/rule out a root cause then work from there.

I concur. had recurring ulcer till 3 years ago and taking the pump inhibitor and 2 antibiotics finally got rid of the heli-thingy bacteria. now I can drink beer in the morning without having to worry about ulcer.

I think it's funny that he's got me listed under my SF name. (My SF name is not the name my mother gave me when I was a baby. [Actually my maternal grandmother named me, but irregardless.])

hey, at least you northerners are getting a proper freeze. Here in Houston we didn't get one, and quite a few of us wish we had. You see, a good freeze tends to kill off the mosquitoes - or at least cuts the population substantially. Since we had some West Nile activity last summer, it would have been very welcome.

Mine has a puffer jacket and a found a canadian firm making "down" jackets for dogs, so he's getting one of those for next winter.

There's a dog down the street with a 1000$ Moncler dog coat. rotflmao.gif

I was on a month long vacation in the Philippines when I was 19yo and got the Dengue Virus. The virus attacks the platelets (just like yellow fever/west nile but more completely) I think my platelet count was down to 8,000 (normal is 150,000-400,000). You just can't do anything that will involve accidents (to avoid internal bleeding). Even brushing teeth is bad - you're gums will bleed. Basically you're in a bed with an IV and you have to wait it out (about a week).

When I heard that the Dengue Virus made is way from southeast asia to south america and now to places like texas it got me freaked out.

I have asked LC to make our dog a coat for when it is really cold as I think it would be of a better quality than what I could buy on the market and a bespoke deal would be fitting for a hound of our house. That said the dog has yet to find a day when it is warmer than -20c that she doesn't want to go out for a hour or more, the only thing that will kill her spirit is wind which is fair. I'm not sure which she enjoys more, running through a foot or two of snow or running on the grass but I suspect the snow holds scents better to the ground and provides a better "hunt".

1K for a coat is a bit much but I had said to LC that there is a market for these things in the sub 1K range if the sales pitch was right, what are they asking for the "Canadian Down" one?
