Just found out my uncle is in the ICU. He's suffered an embolism almost 20 years ago and has been in a lot of pain, and apparently od'd on his pain meds last night. Don't know if it was intentional but I'm guessing (hoping) it wasn't, because even with all his suffering over the years he's always been a really great guy. He's an uncle by marriage but everyone in my family loves the guy.

Thanks for the suggestions (especially gort's trick), but my experience when you book with priceline/hotwire is that you pay next to nothing for the room, but there really are no modifications. Only you (or someone with your photo id) can check in to the room, and there are no adjustments/cancellations ever (even with plenty of advance notice).

I think I can bill the client for it though...
