I love that commercial. Posting screenshots without a Youtube link is an injustice. There is an absolutely hypnotic quality to that kid's rural twang.

I really don't know wines too confusing for me.

People..... who..... talk..... really..... slowly.... like.... you..... got.... nothing.... better.... to.... do.... than.... talk.... to.... them.

 

That is the worst.  I'll do dinner parties every once in a while, and when people are invited, they know what they are in for.  They ask what they can bring, and since I usually take care of all the food, I'll tell them to bring a bottle of wine.  Regardless of whether they know about wine or not, rather than saying "Hey let me spend $15-$20 on a bottle and get some advice from the wine person at the liquor store"... I get a screw top bottle of Black Opal $6 Merlot that I wouldn't use to cook with. 

 

Wine snob?  No, I'm not looking for a bottle of Duckhorn, but come on, if you know i'm big into wine, at least show the slightest bit of care and not try to tell me that a shitty $6 bottle is something you really like.  I'm spending $200+ on food, the least you can do is put a little effort in and get a half way decent bottle.

I hate, hate, hate cold rain. It's like 33 degrees and raining. Why can't it just snow? Would much rather have snow than this garbage.

Excel is a filthy whoreson. Was processing a bunch of data, copy/pasting a formula, and at some point it decides to stop pasting in the formula and just paste in the values from one of the other sheets. If it's going to be stupid, could it at least be consistently stupid?

Nah, I actually like Excel... Most of the time. It does do some things to annoy me, but on the whole, Excel is one of the best things to have come out of Redmond.

idk, i kind of hate them both. i only like snow ifs it flurries that dont accumulate or so much snow that work gets cancelled for a few days.

Meh, I'd rather snow in just about any form than rain. Snow is much easier to deal with, and prettier too

Could also partly be that I grew up in the South and didn't get to see much snow growing up

i will agree with you to snow > rain, but i find mid level accumulated snow to be a PIA to deal with as well.

sidebar - one of the biggest signs that you are no longer a kid, is not loving every inch of snow.

One weekend I changed out the water pumps in my jeep and the wife's Miata. The Miata was far and away the easier one to change.

Yeah, run a few miles in that weather and get back to me.

Speaking of...I ran last weekend, last race for a while, and this race (Chevron) always hires this photo crew that always catches me at the worst times. I mean, every shot looks like I'm limping, being stabbed, or both. Not only that, but I have to pay a fortune for the pictures. This year, they debuted a new photo crew and because of the conditions they only took two pictures during the race - at the finish. When everyone looks their best. Two lousy pictures, and then a few more post-race shots when the last thing I want to do is stop and smile while Mr. Photographer is fiddling with his camera. There is, no joke, one good shot in the bunch, and it's too dark. Thanks photographers. Thanks a whole fucking bunch.

This week's problematic discovery: Linked text boxes on charts seem to break their links if you copy the sheets to a new file (as in, select both at once and copy so that links between the two are preserved...works fine if you are copying within a single file). Data series and labels and stuff all stay linked, but any text boxes you have added get broken. For some reason, if you Move instead of Copy the tabs, they stay linked. So the workaround is to save the source file, Move the tabs to the new file, and then close the source file without saving and reopen it (so you get the tabs back).

Also, people who merge cells horizontally instead of using "center across selection" piss me off.
