Oh, and $150 bar tab ffffuuuu.gif

Stop drinking such cheap shit and the hangover will probably not be as bad.

Then I woke up this morning 15 minutes before my alarm went off. Looked at my phone and had to get on a call at the time my alarm was set for.

I don't think I have left my bedroom (where my computer is) all day other than to get coffee and breakfast cereal from the kitchen. frown.gif

Sucks. I have to make ten slides before work tomorrow.

Fuck.

Just finished Day #7 in my 12 day straight run. ffffuuuu.gif

I did order two nice bottles of wine on the expense account for dinner last night though.

Friday was expensed TGI Fridays night...needless to say, the leftover braised pork shoulder in my fridge was far more appealing than the free-food option.

Expensed TGIF?

You're doing it wrong!

No no, I opted not to. Every night there is a dinner order that goes out for people who are staying late. It's easy because you click it, a menu pops up, you choose your food, and then a while later your dinner is neatly stacked and waiting for you in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, whatever secretary is staying late that night gets to pick the food, and many of them have terrible, awful taste (and I think they are reigned a little tightly on how much they can spend since they are not always billable and thus their meals aren't a client expense).

If you "forget" to put your order in, you can order something else...but then you have to take care of it all, go pick up the food from the building lobby, and expense it individually...but some times it is worth it.

What's not clear to me....is if I can expense meals when I work from home on the weekend. If I went in to the office, lunch would be provided for me, and if I was still working at 7, I could have dinner.

Do I get to do that from home too? It's not like I had time today or yesterday to make lunch while I was working so it seems reasonable that I could expense some take-out...but maybe their argument would be "if you want the food, then get your ass into the office"

Hollywood interpretation of black tie is laughably poor. I think only Hugh Jackman respects canon so far. Jon Hamm comes close. Nearly all the men have no waist covering.

Ah, gotcha. I was wondering why you kept getting TGIF. That dinner ordering system sounds pretty neat. Does it have a list of restaurants to choose from? I'm sure you guys have much better food options within the price range of TGIF.

That's pretty tricky on the expensing from home situation.. I'd play it safe and not expense any meals from home.. although in principle, you should be able to. I mean, the whole premise is that they'll cover your food if you're working, right? Tricky, tricky. Let me know if you find out the policy.

Nah, there is a list, but everybody orders from the which ever place on the list gets picked. It is a two-fold problem...some of the secretaries have terrible taste, and there are apparently a handful of employees who always stay late who are very vocal about things being "too ethnic" which cuts out a lot of the tastiest and most affordable options.

I kind of wish we used Seamless which lets you pick whatever you want (though you still have to go downstairs and fetch it yourself)...I know a lot of people in NYC who use it and just get to order from anywhere they feel like.

this has come up in our HR/staff meetings. so we decided to go with the principle of the thing - if we are going to buy you dinner because you're working a full day and then late evening at the office, we'll do the same thing if you do the same thing working from home. surprisingly, not a lot of our employees avail of this.
