That's because you're not allowed to have bacon. Seriously.

lol, i hate when that happens. idiots.

It's horrible, because it leaves you completely powerless to do anything until they get angry and drive around. They really ought to invent some sort of hand signal for, "go around you fucking imbecile. I'm trying to do this properly so I don't have to make a 75-point turn to get into this spot," 'cause the hand signal I've been using doesn't seem to get the point across, at least not entirely.

Yeah, people by and large seem to have problems processing physical data to park, both parallel and by backing in. Even when I was driving full size pickups with double cab (last one was a Nissan Titan king cab) I would always back into my parking spots. I don't know why people can't figure out turning radius is better in reverse with a front wheel steering vehicle than it is going forward.

Sometimes I will stand and look down on the street below my office to watch people PP. I cannot get over the people who take 5 minutes or more only to throw in the towel and move on to another spot. It's not that hard but you do have to TURN THE WHEEL, sigh.

In the last year or so this city has seen a growth of these daily rental cars whom seem to show up in the morning and sit around all day in the prime parking spots. From what I have read Calgary has the second highest parking rates in North America so I find it amazing that the city is willing to give up this income just to be progressive but it does make us look "cool" having all these white smart cars sitting around. There is one I see every night when I am driving home from the gym which is sitting on a residential street and I often wonder if they are able to use the car by paying for a hour, skip all the parking charges and then bring it home. As I understand as long as it is parked in approved spots this type of action is fine, I kinda want to sign up just to move it a few blocks.

spatial reasoning is not my strong point. It took me years to be able to parallel park and even now I avoid it if I can.

I'm 24 and do not drive. PP is one of the main reasons why.

Discovered Little Miss Canuker put her snow wear in her bag soaking wet yesterday, they were playing in the melting snow at school. It snowed over night and got really cold again and unless it drops to -23 they must go out side for recess so I have to keep her home. She is not going to enjoy the fact that I had her teacher send me her school work to do at home.

even worse in a one lane street when they cant go around and have waited long enough in their stupor that a line of cars starts to pile up.

i have a serious glare that sometimes substitutes for said hand motion.

hhahahahaha, that is the best. when they try an PP and after 5 minutes of moving the wheel 1 mm at a time they are either right back where they started, on a horrible angle with the wheel on the curb and the car jutting into the lane, or my favorite, when they are spaced between the 2 cars they are are trying to park behind, but they are not actually in the spot, like 3 feet off the curb so 3/4 of the car is still in the street.

thats something i noticed about the southern east coast state's drivers:

- they like to back into their parking spots. the parking lots were full of cars parked facing out. even when packed/tight.
- they don't like to use turn signals when switching lanes (especially on highways).
- the left "fast lane" is especially cramped with cars tailgating each other. i noticed this in georgia/n. carolina/south carolina.

I don't fault people for not knowing/tying to properly parallel park. it leaves more open parking spaces the city.

my wife is a good driver but doesn't do well when parking under pressure (like PP in SoHo on the tiny one way cobblestone streets, with an 18wheeler and line of cars waiting behind her) she's also prone to road rage with obviously spills over into whatever we're doing immediately after:

my wife after getting cut off in queens blvd: "MOTHER FUCKER! GO BACK TO JERSEY YOU SUNOFABITCH"
5 min later when we are sitting in a restaurant: "I'M NOT STILL ANGRY. LETS ORDER LUNCH. WHERES THE WAITER?!!!"

LITERALLY the ONLY thing I like about Houston is that their downtown area has regular front-in parking spaces, and you can pay for them with a credit card or bills rather than hunting for 3 bucks in change. There are a few of those in downtown Dallas, but they are about half a mile from the courthouse and my nice shoes don't need that wear and tear.

Yeah, just go ahead and tell me to get back home at midnight on Fridays so I can spend two days there and fly back in on Mondays.

Oh, and he just got promoted to the managerial role. That probably explains why he's so eager to overwork us for his benefit. Fucker.

Eh, as an entitled gen-yer myself, I don't think that sounds too entitled. I mean...that's not the shit you signed up for. Consultants seem to sign on to a pretty standard deal. The deal is that you are never going to have any weeknights at home (so don't get a pet and good luck keeping up with dusting the place)--you're flying home late thursday night in time to go to bed or you're out friday morning. You still have to work on friday, but when you are done, you are home (whether that be 5PM, 7PM or 9PM). Part of the deal is that in exchange for travelling 50 weeks a year, your friday-sunday evenings are when you get to see your wife or your friends or your girlfriend; you might still have to work on saturday, but you will be in town and it probably won't go too late.

Flying late and getting back home at midnight is is pretty shitty (hope you enjoy airport dinners)...it's not like they are paying you more even though they took away a third of your nights at home (and a full half of the "good" nights).

edit: for instance, if I suddenly started having to do weekly travel, I would be none too happy. I didn't sign up for that shit and if you're not going to pay me more to do it, there is going to be a problem.
