Things that are pissing you off. - Page 2686

Yikes! Morbid obesity and societies' role debate was had while I was gone. lol8[1].gif

My thing is that I have nothing against fat people and even obese people.

Its just that in my specific situation in Sea World - they were berating a indian family asking very politely if they could sit in the "handicapped companion" seats which where not filled at all. The companions themselves (who where mostly obese) of the obese people in scooters parked in the handicapped area started loudly chirping/berating the indian family like it was a huge capitol offense to want to sit in the open seats. Logic serves that since the show was about to start, and the handicapped park zone was filled with scooters, then the handicapped companion seating was already occupied by said companions then the rest of the open seats are kind of a shame to waste. it was christmas anyways and everyone could've fit easily, and it wouldn't of been a health hazard/violation because those seats aren't for handicapped anyway but their companions.

again... its not like they were in wheelchairs and had cerebral palsy, or missing limbs from accidents. it seemed unfair to yell at family wanting to sit in an open seating area in that matter almost like they were abusing the system.

just got back from the dog run. McCarren was a disaster zone (because of the semi-frozen puddles galore + semi frozen mud pits). So I had the bright idea to go to Cooper.... which has probably the most responsible dog owners in this part of Brooklyn.....

then this happened:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

the funny part was my puppy didn't give a shit and wanted to keep on playing. he even ran away from anyone trying to catch him so he could keep on running/playing with the other dogs.

its actually probably going to end up being a cool flesh wound anyway. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

it did bleed like a bitch though. we got to the house and he started rolling around on the white carpets/white walls and flopping his head around spraying blood everywhere. I took him into the shower with me and cleaned him up. I was considering maybe tying to suture it closed... but again its:

Sorry to hear it, Globesy. I'm sure you'll do everything you can to make it up to your friend. Any idea the value of the stuff they confiscated?

they didn't confiscate anything, yet. what they do is leave a letter on your door saying that they will come and confiscate stuff in a week if the debt isn't paid. ironically, I had this happen to me 20 years ago, a room mate owned money and I had to get a lawyer to write a ltter saying that none of the stuff in the apartment was his. luckily, I had been paying for renters insurance for years so I had proof of ownership of all the stuff.

but the issue is it freaked out his ex-wife and he is scared it will freak out his kids. and it shouldn't impact him. its my problem, not his.

the tickets, together, with late fees and everything should be less than 500 bucks.

Bummer deal GT, best to get it cleared up.

That poor puppy. I dislike other dog owners who allow such things to happen, it's a clear training issue. Shame a return bite o the owners ear is frowned upon.

I actually should be able to clear it up by phone with a credit card, late tonight (early morning israel time). also, I found out what paper work I need to do to change my address of record, and I can do that friday at the consulate. again, I'm pissed at myself that I didn't do it earlier.

I suggested that I send him a check, he was more than a little pissed off, so I want to try to do it wihout his help and let him calm down.

maybe send the check anyway as a bit of insurance with a hand written letter saying how sorry you are. then fix it by phone first thing. that way all bases are covered if there's any hitch.

if he's still angry if receiving a check and it being fixed by you too... then there's nothing you can do... and if you're really friends it'll blow over over a short period of time.

when I left israel I changed my address to a friends address, without really thinking that there were any possible bad consequesnces of this.
last year, about a year ago, he the freind sent me two parking tickets that had come to his address for me, old ones. I was on a business trip and glanced at them and figured I would deal with them later. I didn't see a date for the event, but they had to be at least 10 years old. I sort of thought that the next time I was in israel I would deal with them.
anyway, today he sends me an email, he's furous. Israel has a system for debt collection where they can send people to your house to take your things for a debt. since I am registered at his house, they can take stuff from him. so I have to deal with this tonight, but he is really pissed off at me. he has been my best friend for 30 years, he's always been good and decent to me, and I feel like I fucked him over with my negligence.
I really feel like shit.

GT, i dont blame you for feeling like shit. you are a good dude, and things like this bother good dudes.

on the plus side, you are going to clear this up in a manner of days, your friend will likely get over it, and appreciate that you took care of it ASAP. and in time, it will probably become one of those stories that are hell when they happen, but become humorous anecdotes between friends later in life.

just try and keep that in mind, and dont beat yourself up about it too bad.

You are lucky you can leave the house on new years day, the fire works have been going on for a month straight now and my dog is terrified of it, so we are in hiding pretty much all month and especially tonight.

Currently sitting in pitch black with the dog next to me blasting music to drown out the sound.

Luckily they have started talking about chaining the law, so it's only allowed from the 27-31 and not from 1/12-5/1.

Nap was great! Speaking of fireworks I'm looking forward to the display we'll see tonight. Full moon, super clear, crisp night, beautiful environs...and just a two minute toddle from my driveway smile.gif
